Introduction

"Black Panther: refers to an American superhero film which was released in 2018. It is a film which is based on the Marvel comic characters who have similar names. The Black Panther movie was produced by studios known as Marvel while Walt Disney studios motion pictures conducted the distribution of the film. The author sensitizes that representation of the black characters within the film is a sign of all the struggles and experiences they had as black people during the colonization period back in history. It also shows a representation of race whereby more blacks are being mingled with whites and the relationships are not as tight as they should be.

T'Challa is the main character in Black Panther movie, and he is also referred to as the Black Panther. He went back to his country of Wakanda as a king where he was supposed to balance his new roles with his responsibilities as Black Panther. However, not everyone was happy when he became the leader of the Wakanda, and he was left with no option but to deal with enemies both outside and within Wakanda in order to protect his emperor (Nama 134). Those who loved him had no problem seeing him back again. This goes against the common perception and understanding of what people know as a hero. They are not used to finding any black heroes around, and therefore the movie brings in a different perception of colonization. In this case, the black hero fights for all the problems of the black people, and this also contributes to a different understanding of the effects of colonization on blacks. Therefore, this paper will analyze how difficult it is of kings or leaders of the minority groups to lead and protect their people against the enemies.

T'Challa being a leader of the African American ethnic group, he also faces discrimination because of his ethnicity. This shows how our society is right now because most of the minority groups are being racially discriminated because of their color. Leaders, therefore, have a considerable task of making sure that the rights of their people are not ignored and that their people are being treated equally and presented with equal opportunities just like others(Nama 139). The role of T'Challa in leading Wakanda shows how such leaders should use tactful techniques in order to protect the people against the enemies or are both within and outside the community. The character does not contradict himself because his roles are clear. This affects our interpretation of the character because we all understand that leaders sacrifice a lot to save their people. There are no opportunities to read this person in a counter-hegemonic manner because his responsibilities as a leader are very clear since he is obliged to protect his people.

Black Panther film is a fascinating film that tries to convey a message on the different scenarios among African countries. It seeks to point out the hypocrisy and egocentric nature of the people who find they occupying certain commanding positions. Miss Bala

Miss Bala was released on February 2019 where the character is known as "Miss Bala" was caught in the crosshairs cartel deal. She was then kidnapped, raped and instructed to become one of the gang laborers because she was hoping to find her friend who was missing. The film has been released before the cartel war reached its pick point and before many of the Americans became knowledgeable about its escalation.

The movie now has a Hollywood remake which has added new concepts to the story; however, it is less coherent in its message. The director of the new version is known as Catherine Hardwicke. Miss Bala was transformed from Mexican to Mexican American which brings in the issue of discrimination because Gloria was being mocked for being a Pocha which means someone who is from Mexico but lives in the United States, and they can no longer speak their first language again because of the American influence ("'Miss Bala' Review: Gina Rodriguez Finds The Wrong Place At The Wrong Time").
