Introduction

Discussion of guns in the hands of campus students is among the fascinating topics to debate on. The laws of the United States allow for the carry of guns among its citizens. The citizens are expected to use the guns for protection if they are attacked by criminals. Most of the campus students are adults and have sound reasoning concerning what they are supposed to do. The law needs to be implemented in colleges too ("Campus Carry Law Poses Concerns For Colleges With High School Students"). There have been several incidences whereby the students at the university and colleges are attacked by shooters and are rendered defenseless as they do not have guns to defend themselves. This paper argues on Montgomery college allowance of guns on campus.

Any sober person would never agree on the allowance of guns on campus especially considering the political tensions that normally occur from time to time. It is fine to leave guns in the hands of competent owners but not to everyone who has the will to own one. It is true that guns are useful for self-protection and hunting during the earlier times. However, giving guns to those who are not trained to do so is causing chaos to the society ("Campus Carry Law Poses Concerns For Colleges With High School Students"). Texas recently passed a rule that everyone should be allowed to own a gun including those on campus. The rule seems to be helpful holding to the theory that if a bad guy gets ownership of the gun and aims to shoot as many people as possible, good people owning guns would be available to protect them. However, it is important to consider that most of the good guys who might be in the possession of the guns might not be in a position to aim accurately to the targets involved. It is important to note that individuals who are in a position to use guns for a wrong purpose are normally prepared to get the targets and are likely to be good shooters.

The wrong people who are in the shooting are normally ready to die. Consequently, they are always in the movement to be able to kill as many people as possible. Professional shooters find it impossible to hit a moving target. There are chances that the professional shooters would hit inappropriate targets if there are movements. Individuals who own guns in campus and are untrained to hold them are likely to shoot wrong targets and this might have great impact to the on the causalities involved in an attack ("Campus Carry Law Poses Concerns For Colleges With High School Students") The people who mean good are likely to shoot wrong targets in the aim of helping. It is important to note that most of the shooters come in the colleges prepared to die either in the hands of the law or in the hand of the individuals whom they attack. They aim at shooting as many people as possible before their death calls. Legalizing gun possession on campus is less likely to stop them from attacking a school.

Allowing the guns on campus would mean that law enforcement should not be allowed in the incidences where there are shootouts in case there is any. The appearance of the law enforcement organizations that might involve the policemen might prove not to be useful as there would be more guns in the air and it would be difficult to differentiate between the shooter and the attacker. The enforcement might shoot the wrong people thinking that they are defending the right people. The possession of guns in campuses is likely to cause even more commotions that help. Shooting within a confined space is normally quite difficult and most of the professionals would attest to that.

Texas is among the eleven states that had allowed concealed carrying of guns among the campus students by 2016. By twenty seventeen, about sixteen states had already allowed the possession of guns among campus students (Tribune, and Platoff). It has been noted that the attacks on campus have not been reduced by the allowance of guns in the camps. Instead, the number of casualties during the attacks has significantly increased. Those who have great interests in the rules that govern the operations of the university state that there is no need to give individuals on campus the authority of possessing guns (Tribune, and Platoff). Camps have different rules that govern their operations and the government needs to take the fact that individual campuses need to decide whether to accept the rules of the government or not.

Montgomery College has its rules of operations that outline that students need to be protected by the university. It is important that the rules of the university be considered without forcefully giving way to the outline of the national government. Allowing concealed gun ownership among campus students would mean that other weapons would be allowed on campus too. It is important to note that the concealed gun ownership would not allow for the inspection of various weapons that are carried by the campus students (Tribune, and Platoff). There is a high probability that the individuals who carry the various weapons might cause great inconvenience to the operations of the government. It is important to note that the security in the university would allow for more and more weapons as the guns are concealed.

Conclusion

The law should only be allowed among campus students if it favors the laws of the university. Guns should only be allowed at the community level as they can be helpful in attacks like that that occurred in Virginia in 2007. Political differences make the allowance of guns on campus to be a great deal. Students are likely to get into gun shoots as a result of political divides and this might greatly disorient the programs of the country (Tribune, and Platoff). A war might seem to have started at the campus level but spread to the whole state. The carrying concealed guns would compromise the security of the university students. Some of the students are terrorists and this might give them the opportunity to conduct their criminal activities within the campus. Some universities choose to allow gun usage within campuses only if some spaces are considered to be gun free.
