Modern family series is a TV show comprising of different family arrangements as viewed from the extreme societal perspective that exists today. The series involves a family man Jay Pritchett who remarried a younger and vivacious woman, Gloria ("Modern Family S04E19 The Future Dunphys - video Dailymotion," n.d.). They have a 12-year-old intelligent son, Manny. Jay's grown-up daughter, Claire is married to Phil, and together they have three kids. Together they try hard to establish an honest, open, and healthy marriage where Claire tries hard to bring up the kids with a stable societal value, which she never experienced during her childhood. Claire's brother Mitchel embraces the same gender married with his partner Cameroon, where they get busy trying to bring up their sole adopted daughter.

Considering Modern Family Season 4 Episode 19 "Modern Family S04E19, The Future Dunphys - video Dailymotion," (n.d.), Claire endorses a nuclear family, which includes the children and her husband Phil in a neolocal residence where they have established an independent household after marriage. Her father Jay, on the other hand, tries to keep with his vivacious wife and son finding it hard to break from his traditional culture but at the same time, practices exogamy as he has married outside his ancestral native society. Phil tries hard to establish the custom rules and obligations that will help them to endorse a healthy relationship between them and the children. In the episode, Phil, with his wife in the hospital, discovers that families have a more profound crisis than the actual face portrait. Norman is a patient next to his wife Claire, who got his children to visit him in the hospital. Norman's family argues where the daughter requests his father for money, ignoring the extreme sensitivity that's he's in the hospital. The families face social conflicts, crises observed by an anthropologist to exist in every form of family establishment.

From the episode, Jay spends a lot of time advising his genius son from the second wife about life. Jay uses the real-life experience he had to overcome as a kid trying to nurture you boy the real value of acquiring appropriate education while growing upright. Mitchel and his partner Cameron have to deal with their young daughter. The couple seeks help from Gloria and invites her for girl talk. The girl believes she is gay as her friends in school tells her that her parents are gay, then she must also be gay. Every kid in school comes across such social stigmatization, changing their perspective.
