Introduction

The most favorite musical moment during the event was when the band paused their performance midway to acknowledge the audience and the entire performing team. Immediately after the applause, the fans were treated to a gleaming production that captured the potency of the band's rich catalogue. From this segment, the synergistic cooperation between the choir and the orchestra could easily be picked out. The band introduced the orchestra, and the fabulous musicians popped back with a lush backdrop of flawless vocals accompanying the instrumentals. To experience the band's appreciation of the fans and its commitment to keep them entertained in a relatable way was humbling, and allowed the fans to feel comfortable and active.

2) What musical elements did you notice in that selection (e.g., rhythm, melody, harmony, texture, dynamics, and/or something else)?

There were a few musical elements that stood out throughout the show. Foremost, there was the band's harmony that kept the audience dancing to each song. Besides the demonstration of guitar prowess, the otherworldly harmony between Vince Gill and Deacon Frey stood out. The two worked together to provide unique "earthy vocals, which added some needed warmth to the performance. In general, the performance demonstrated the balance between harmony and guitar that exists in the original album. In the band's inherent nature, there was exuberance on the stage, which was characterized by the screams from the crowd. The crowd kept asking for more from the band, and it delivered.

3) Anything you disliked (and why)?

First, the fact that some of the original members of the band were not present to deliver their part was a disappointment. As an Eagles fan, there was never going to be any expectation other than excellence. Hence, my experience with the band would greatly influence how I relate with their music going forward. Therefore, I intended that the original music would be replicated as closely, or even better than I had heard them before. Unfortunately, the new voices meant that there were slight variations, which had to be excused so as not to blur the entertainment of the moment. However, for a fan, these subtle variations still count much.

4) To what degree did the audience participate in this event (on a scale from "very passive" to "very involved"), relative to audiences at other types of musical events?

The audience in this event was very actively involved. The band invited the audience into the performance by recognizing its presence, particularly singling out the loyal fans. There were applauses at the end of each song performed by the band, an indicator that the audience was connected and that the performances resonated with the taste of the audience. The entire audience knew the lyrics by heart and recognized each of the band members. The two elements played a part in ensuring that the audience was actively involved and connected to the event. There was a lot of exuberance demonstrated, with the band engaging the audience and providing that they were having a blast.

5) What was the audience's reaction to this music? Did people seem to enjoy the music? Did they walk out? Did audience members interact with each other (and if so, while the music was playing or between numbers)?

Overall, it was easy to tell that the audience enjoyed the performance. It easy to make this conclusion because for a short live music event, unless the individuals present were not expecting to listen to some good music, it would have been easy for them to spend their precious time elsewhere with family and friends. Everyone came early to the event and only left when the performance was over. The audience kept cheering the band on and applauding each of the songs they presented. The audience held their energy throughout the performance. It was not surprising that the audience kept applauding the band to the end of the performance. As a result of this final reaction from the audience, it is fair to conclude that every member of the audience enjoyed the performance.
