Mental health refers to the state of well-being where every person realizes their potential, in this state, everyone can cope with the normal stresses of life, additionally, and they can work fruitfully and productively, a situation that can enable them to make a contribution to their communities and social set-ups. Health is a state of absolute mental, physical and social well-being and not simply the absence of the infirmity or a disease. Mental health is both the foundation of well-being, it is an objective in itself (Purdie et al., 2010). There is a close relationship between physical well-being and mental health. In other words, the state of being healthy exist as a result of mental health. In most cases, public and community health aim to enhance the physical and social environment and improve positive health and well-being in different environments. Mental health issues are most evident in young people and children. In accordance with the longitudinal study from the Australian university, George Patton and his colleagues proved that the state of mental health problems does not proceed to adulthood.

Mental health reflects the state of spiritual and emotional well-being of every individual. When having positive mental health, everyone often feels like having control of their lives, they sit comfortably in the community since they are capable of coping with the stressful situations. When in good mental health, individuals can still have hard times, feel sad angry and anxious. Possessing the above symptoms, however, do not necessarily mean that someone is having a mental illness. In accordance with the above case, mental illness involves a range of medical conditions that can be medically diagnosed (Purdie et al., 2010). When not properly managed, mental illnesses can have negative impacts on our lives, in other words, they can cause moods, thoughts as well as behaviours to change the daily functioning of a person. The symptoms of mental health illnesses vary from mild to severe and may take place within a short time or in other words, it can be constant. Mental health is directly related to the state of well-being. Well-being involves functioning well and feeling good. In life, there are various things that impact the well-being of a person including some external conditions such as employment, income, as well as social networks and personal issues. A person exhibiting a positive sense of well-being often has feelings of contentment, happiness and satisfaction. Our functioning in the society is equally significant to our wellbeing just as feeling good. To operate or function well, there is the need of support to participate in activities that are useful and those that make us feel self-sufficient and competent. There is also the need to develop inner resources to enable us to cope in times when things are difficult and also become resilient to changes that are out of our control. While exhibiting a state of wellbeing and mental health, it is usually crucial that we feel a sense of relatedness to other people in the society (Purdie et al., 2010). Therefore, in addition to functioning and feeling well, the social experiences including supportive relationships as well as the sense of connection with others result to the important part of an individual well-being in the society.

Mental health impacts every person. Mental health does not fix, it is controlled by a range of factors or conditions including life experiences, workplace issues, as well as other environmental factors. Social and economic conditions that affect our lives may also impact our lives. Nonetheless, people having mental health issues or conditions may experience positive mental health, similarly, different individuals may also experience poor mental health without having mental health conditions. There are diverse initiatives that can be undertaken to enhance positive mental health for communities and individuals at the community, individual and system level. At the community and individual level, the mental health advancement strategies concentrate on enhancing a person's participation and empowerment and can target a range of settings or environments including the workplace, community, school or home. The above strategies often seek to strengthen factors that safeguard positive mental health, reduce the risk factors for poor mental health or address the social determinants of mental health. At the system level, the strategies employed concentrates of addressing diverse social determinants of health issues and must involve work across diverse sectors as well as policy areas such as employment, housing, social assistance and settlement. A mental health problem can occur to anyone at any given time, it is not anyone's fault (Purdie et al., 2010). In many cases, it is always hard to understand or to deal with, but it is important to speak out and get immediate support instead of trying to deal with it individually. In the case of mental health disorder, it is important to acknowledge that there might be a problem, however, the affected persons should not panic but instead, they should talk about it by either friend or any trusted person. In some other cases, it is important to seek professional information and advice and thereafter accept help. When a person is injured or sick, they usually head straight to the doctor, the same procedure should be taken in case there is a mental health problem, and it should be treated with a similar level of concern and care that is evident in cases of physical illnesses or injuries.

In many occasions, the workplace has an essential influence on an individual's mental health and well-being. Currently, it is accepted that the work environment can impacts an individual's mental health on a daily basis through relationships and interactions at the workplace. In the work environment, management can enhance the creation of a psychologically healthy workplace that can promote well-being and mental health of each worker. The important elements to be addressed are stressor such as bullying, harassment, lack of control as well as the workload. The early years of development play greater roles in the determination of mental health through childhood and even beyond. A mentally healthy child refers to the one with a clear sense of self-worth and identity, such people often have the ability to manage and recognize emotions to play, learn, enjoy relationships and friendships and deal with difficulties. Various factors play related roles when it comes to the mental stability of a person, the roles may include, society, family and environmental issues. An individual's well-being is the result of mental stability which is characterized by healthy development within a nurturing environment. During the early years of development, infants often make develop emotional attachment and form relationships that support the future mental health of a person. The attachment relationship is specifically essential and has far-reaching impacts on the development of emotions, cognitive and social skills.

Mental health and well-being are essential facets to positive workplace culture, health and safety and productivity. Despite understanding this, many organizations lack the time, knowledge and practical skills to improve the existing initiatives or even get started. Therefore, it is imperative to perceive mental health and well-being as the ultimate component of their overall health and safety measures. There are diverse simple ways to assess the mental health on a daily basis. In the society, we are all different and whatever works for one individual may not work for the other person. To maintain health and well-being, one needs to practice doing things in collaboration with others, in other words, there is the need to engage in collective responsibility. Spending time friends or the family, getting involved in different activities and meeting new people and change the feeling of a person. Additionally, developing creative skills may improve the mental health conditions of a person. Having impacts in the sense of mental health and wellbeing can help in increasing self-esteem and confidence. Investing time in a relationship may also influence the mental health condition, connecting with people and taking time to build a good and long-lasting relationship are essential in enhancing effective mental health.

Poor mental health has in many cases proven to be a public challenge in different societies. Mental health problems are popular but the solutions are available. Individuals suffering from mental health problems may get better and they may completely recover. Improving the mental health conditions in a population should be a national priority for every country since improving mental health and wellbeing is usually considered as having a positive impact in numerous aspects of society. Good mental health and wellbeing are important in improving and achieving outcomes for families, individuals and the communities at large. Mental health conditions affect how we feel, act and think, additionally, it helps in determining how every person handles stress, relate to others and decide on different choices. Mental health is critical at every stage of life, from childhood, adolescence to adulthood. In the course of life, when one experiences mental health problems, their thinking, behaviour and mood could be easily be affected. There are numerous factors that lead to the mental health problems including the biological factors such as the brain chemistry and genes, life experiences such as abuse and trauma as well as the family history concerning the mental health issues. Mental health problems are not evenly distributed across the population. In most cases, socially disadvantaged individuals are at a higher risk of developing mental health problems.

Good mental health and wellbeing in a person mean diverse things to different people; therefore, every individual must find their own ways to live that is satisfying and meaningful to them. In general terms, mental health can, therefore, be defined as a way of describing emotional and social wellbeing. Mental health impacts every person. Every child and adult needs good mental to grow and develop in a healthy way, adapt to change built strong relationships and deal with the challenges that are common in life. In many cases, it is always hard to understand or to deal with, but it is important to speak out and get immediate support instead of trying to deal with it individually.
