Ethical decision makingrequires time to determine a specific situation as well as take the right path. Although some decisions might be easy, pressure, threats and the case may lead one into wrong ethical decision making. For instance, Joe doing the work between the UWEAR and PALEDENIM, the CEO for Peninsula Hotel, TomTramlin, and CEO Mike Miller all count on Joe Smith to the right thing. The threads4U to Joe has made the services lower by 10%. Also, the Ethical for Bill gives Joe grief from his boss with a closed deal at a discount. The situation where Bill asks Joe and his family to go out on his Yacht requires the final decision to be made. Although Bill and Joe have had an apparent relationship, the decision Joe has to make has to be ethical.
Consequently, Joe has to leave business aside and form the intimate bond with Bill as long as nothing goes wrong. The information then brings a different situation the personal relationship between Bill and Joe regarding the company partnership is leaked. Therefore, whenever negotiations and contract talks made should consider vital decisions with the ethical relativism well understood.
Joe has to think about all the possibilities before he responds to Bill's invitation since it could fall into professional gifting. Since this may be considered not a code of ethics, the hidden agenda of the request must be regarded as by Joe. The relationship strains Joe in making an ethical decision with the feeling of obligation. Therefore, the response to the invitation needs to be considered regarding family plans with the interest of postponing the invitation(Shapiro, Stefkovich, & Gutierrez, 2016). Although Bill might get angry, his agendas are not to be professional since a business meeting have to be in the office and not in a private place. Consequently, Joe has to review various characters that have to do with the ethical decision making keeping the business factor in mind.
Joe has to apply the utilitarian theory in ethical decision making regarding the care theory that is based on Bill's decision. Since the decision made should be based on both personal and organizational level, the utilitarian approach is essential for Joe. On the other hand, Bill has to use the Egoism theory which is vital for oneself in ethical decision making. Also. The care theory has to be used regarding the relationship between Joe and Bill. The virtue theory is also vital for the moral values of the business as well as the friendly relationship of Joe and Bill.
Conclusion
The theories give the guidelines for the ethical decision making based on the steps that are coordinated to close the loopholes on the grey areas. Use of group decision making is well recommended since it is based on levels with the identification of the problem hence accessing the possible outcomes with the evaluation of all the possibilities. Also, the group decision ensures active selection and assessment of ethical choices as well as deciding on specific paths(Kemp, 2017). Consequently, there should be a backup plan for any wrong decisions which have to be planned rather than the experiences. Since the programs have to be discussed with the better outcomes, there is a need for Joy to focus on the account that makes ethical decision making.
