Introduction
Health care is very important for ensuring an individual has good health. A leader in a health care team plays a significant role in making decisions concerning caregiving. Having interviewed one of my leaders in my organization, his responses on his take about health care gave a clear picture of the position a leader has in a health care team. Therefore, this essay discusses my supervisor's response on his role as a health care team member, his take on professionalism and how profession responsibility influence his work, reason to why he considers himself as a steward of health care, the importance of leaders playing their role when working with colleagues thus, creating a suitable working conditions and comparison of his responses to those of my colleague.
Role of a Leader in a Health Care Team
The purpose of a health care team leader in a health care team as per my supervisor's response is to coordinate his team for better provision of services to patients. He pointed out that it's very vital for a leader first to care. That, by doing this, he can even encourage and provide instructions. This differs from my colleagues' point of view. My colleague argued that his role as a health care member team is to communicate directly with patients and make them understand the part of everyone. Both are promoting health, but due to their different posts, their work differs a little bit.
Professionalism
His take on professionalism is that it's a natural ability of a person to align personal and organizational ethics for a better service provision to patients. He also pointed out that, profession responsibility influences his work in that, he always has to put interests of the patients first. That this ensures the proper delivery of health care services to patients. Also, the responsibility of showing followers to acknowledge their mistakes and move on in a way influences his work since he has to put his interests' aside and work in favor of better service provision. Therefore having to compare my colleagues' response that he puts the benefit of patients first, it's clear to see that they are similar since both have to put interests of the patients first.
Being a Steward of Health Care
However, from his response, it's clear that he considers himself a steward of health care. The reason is that he advocates for the proper running of the organization by having to watch out for his members on how they operate. He also pointed out that, due to their knowledge and experience, they try to educate and give directions to his followers. My colleagues view on stewardship was also in the context of leaders playing their role in guiding his followers and promoting health. Thus, showing their take on stewardship is the same. Relationship between a Leader and His Team Members
He also pointed out that the relationship builds between a leader and a member of the health care team is essential. That, by having to exercise professional advocacy and authenticity as well as power and influence when working with colleagues is very important. The reason being that it prevents conflicts among members and also with the leaders. My colleague had a similar response, he pointed out that by doing that, they create a pleasant working environment.
Therefore, by having to compare responses for both, it's evident that the main aim of all health care team members is common. From a leader to a team member, their role might differ depending on their posts, but the goal remains the same. It is providing health care services to promote health.
