The article starts by exhausting on the fact that nowadays, people get sleeplessness, and they take it for granted, even going to an extent od bragging about it. It then explores some adverse effects of sleeplessness, such as high blood pressure, paranoia, stroke, and weight gain, alongside killing libido, as explained in science (Sandee, 2019). Following readings on the topic at hand, there evolved some reactions in me. First, I was puzzled by the realization of the fact that sleep was in any way related to sex life, such that sleeplessness could negatively affect one's sleeplessness. In such a case, the curiosity further drove me to explore more on how a lack of enough sleep could affect sex life. After reading the contents of the article, I was then able to learn a lot about the mechanism that surrounds sleeplessness as it affects sex life in individuals, including the reduced levels of testosterone and libido that then leads to erectile dysfunction in men as well as arousal problems in women. Then, I absorbed with satisfaction the ways of reducing the effects of sleeplessness on sex life, including the practice of good sleep hygiene, setting up a bedtime routine, as well as practicing mindfulness about sex.
The topic relates to human sexuality, as observed in its incorporation of associated concepts. One of them is the concept of sexuality. It can be observed that the topic deals with how the lack of enough sleep adversely affects sex life. In such a case, the topic explores the issues of sexuality in both men and women, such as low levels of testosterone and libido resulting from poor sleep hygiene, which then leads to degraded sex life (Sandee, 2019). Also, there is the concept of love, since sex life exists between lovers. In such a case, the affected sex life by poor sleep leads to dissatisfied partners.
