Introduction

The conflict between Israel and Palestine began when the state of Israel was established in 1948, where the two states claimed ownership of the Gaza strip, which is the land that borders Israel and Palestine. The conflicts led to the breakout of the war between Israel, Palestine, and Egypt that wanted to control the Gaza strip, including the Suez Canal on the Egypt and Israel border. The conflict has not yet been resolved, and the two countries continue with their conflicts to have control of the border and occupy the land. The paper analyzes the conflict, the war, and the challenges that make it hard for the conflict to be resolved.

Egypt has attacked Israel in collaboration with Palestine, where Israel risked losing its country to the enemies; hence Israel had to re-strategize how to fight the war and win. The land that Israel has been accused of occupying includes its border with Syria known as Golan Heights, its border with Lebanon known as Shebaa Farms, and the Palestinian border the West Bank (Tjong-Alvares 98). Israel had good relations with the United States of America and different western countries that supplied Israel with ammunition for use during the war. There was a cold war between the Soviet Union and America on the interventions that they needed to take to end the war.

Countries around the world had different opinions on whether to recognize Israel as an independent state or not. The support for Israel was becoming a political issue where different countries took a decision based on their political positions (BBC Documentary). The Chinese and America had differences in their view regarding the Palestine Israel conflict. Israel had to remain neutral to avoid diplomatic conflicts. Israel continues to be isolated because of a lack of good relations with its neighbors. The Israeli people are forced to become innovative for self-reliance. The Israeli conflict has not been resolved yet; the countries involved are not committed to ending the conflict.

The hope of ending the conflict between Israel and Palestine is slowly diminishing. There have been secret negotiations, peace plans, international summits as well as state-building programs that want to resolve the conflict by partitioning the contested territory into Palestine and Israel. Direct negotiations between the President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas and the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu were expected to be the solution of the never-ending conflict. The United States of America was willing to give Israel $ 3 billion for them to stop the construction of an illegal settlement in the territory (BBC Documentary). The Palestinians cannot sign an agreement that does not meet the minimum as per the international law. Both parties are not willing to compromise, thus making it hard to have an agreement. A favorable agreement for the Palestinians would be the establishment of a Palestinian State with the capital being in East Jerusalem.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the conflict between the Israelites and Palestine has continued for many years. Israel has occupies the West Bank through the military. Negotiations to reach an agreement between the two countries have not yielded the fruits. Negotiations conducted in 2013 between the President of Palestine and the Prime Minister of Israel was expected to end the conflict, but it did not yield any fruits. Palestine is dedicated to safeguarding their rights, including the removal of the Israelite military and the release of the Palestinian prisoners.
