Presidential limitations and powers get accorded depending on the relationship and interplay between different branches of the government. A presidency's functioning gets primarily determined by the mood of the public and congress that are often created by the state of the nation and the behavior of the president's predecessor. Donald Trump is deviating from his predecessor's norms, it is increasing the power of the president's office, although it has some implications on the nation and its citizens.

The 21st Century portrays a different presidency than that created at the end of the 1700s (Clark, 2018). Earlier constitutional provisions ensured that congress was the dominant arm of the government. Personalities portrayed by the first three presidents George Washington, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson influenced and shifted power so that the currently the legislature, judiciary and executive branches of the government have almost equal power (Clark, 2018). The presidency is dynamic and ever-evolving with different sitting presidents.

Over few years people have become infuriated with today's presidential figures and the way they choose to abuse government authority. Social norms and customs have transpired from the early 1900s and are applied and used to this date (Wang, 2011). Social norms are a set of rules established not to enforce demands but to create a better society (Wang, 2011). Under the established social standards, the presidency and the congress should compromise and stop their supremacy battles to restore order and administer the country into political and economic success.

Over the years, presidential powers have experienced a myriad of changes, although conservatism has prompted a lot of confusion amongst America's voters. In the political context conservatism is a philosophy upholding traditional political ideas and values while opposing innovation or change (Zelizer, 2009). The conservative embrace of presidential powers has been a contentious issue in recent years; many conservatives are furious with their counterpart colleagues for accepting the growth of presidential powers (Zelizer, 2009). However, they ignore that presidential power has become inherent in the conservative moment since the 1970s (Zelizer, 2009). Trump is not the only president that deviated from social norms; Richard Nixon demonstrated that the executive could use and implement its powers by making budget cuts to attain his military objectives (Zelizer, 2009. Conservative moments have increased presidential powers and provided that a president can adapt to a new formality and professionalism in the Whitehouse (Zelizer, 2009). The president can choose to neglect and not adhere to traditional values and norms, especially those that oppose their liberal beliefs.

Donald Trump is a perfect example of a president that neglects conservatism. Trumps administration's approach towards immigration was sudden and unexpected since he restricted imposed travel bans and immigration from some countries (Spurlock, 2015). Unlike his predecessor Barrack Obama who used diplomatic means in amicably settling disputes, trump killed Qaseem Soleimani a high ranking official of the Iran government, thus violating the Executive Order 11905 (Spurlock, 2015). It states that no employee of the United States Government shall conspire to engage in political assassinations (Spurlock, 2015).

The next president will inherit some of the changes like imposed travel bans and immigration restrictions. Trump's restriction on immigration to the United States will result in high wage growth for native-born workers. The assassination of Qaseem Soleimani will result in adverse economic effects such as some nations may impose trade restrictions against the United States. It will result in intense tensions amongst Iran and the United States, resulting in both Political instabilities.
