Introduction
The webinar is more the same as a seminar, but one that is conducted online. The webinar provides an interactive session between the trainer and trainees on different topics of discussions. The webinar in question covered the human resource function in an organization. The topic of the training was "Introduction to HR Metrics and Workforce Analytics." Some of the areas covered under the topic included the difference between HR and workforce analytics, data required to perform HR as well as workforce analytics, HR and workforce analytics at different levels of the organization as well as various functions of the HR and the metrics required.
The webinar took an online approach to the training session. The trainees were logged in at the same time as the training was taking place. Bill Robinson conducted the training exercise. Mr. Robinson works as the Training Manager for the Society of Human Resources (SHRM). His qualifications for both SHRM and CIPD as a trainer applies to both the United States and the United Kingdom. Mr. Robinson has been successful in training Human Resource Managers in different parts of the world.
Bill Robinson was the only trainer that was assigned to the webinar session. Even though he was the only trainer, it was appropriate for the size of the training class. The training was online and did not have the challenges that normal training would have if conducted in person. All that is required is a computer that has a connection to the internet and some writing material. The HR webinar could have any number of trainees logged in to the session. Given the dynamics and trends towards applying the latest technology, the webinar was appropriate and convenient as different information regarding the Human Resource function can be delivered to as many people as possible at lower costs.
The target audience for this particular training were individuals in the human resource function. Such individuals could benefit from the information provided in the training session. The individuals that the webinar target includes human resource managers, human resource specialists, any students pursuing a career in human resource as well as organizations as a whole. The material provided in the training session was appropriate as it entailed different aspects of HR and workforce analytics. The data will be useful for the individuals identified.
From a personal perspective, the training session was useful in various ways. The webinar has increased my knowledge relating to human resource management. I now know that there is an analytical side to human resource management that I did not know. Besides increasing my knowledge, I can use such information for future use. In the future, when I am employed as human resource personnel, I can use the knowledge to improve the organization's as well as workforce productivity.
The trainer used various tactics to ensure that I retain the information I grasped during the webinar. One of the tactics used is by providing a summary of the teachings at the end of the session. Providing a review ensured that the trainer emphasized on the areas covered. The other way includes are answering any questions that are raised at the end of the training session. The question and answer session clarified any points that were not clear.
Conclusion
My evaluation of the training session is very useful. The information provided by Mr. Robinson concerning HR analytics and workforce analytics revealed some information that I did not know about, which can be helpful in the future. From my point of view, there is no improvement that is necessary for the training session.
