Introduction
Ethical decision making is a term that refers to the procedures of choosing and evaluating alternatives that are in line with the ethical principles. Making decisions requires a person to have principles that are based on good moral standards. The different ethics that are important to the people in workplaces require a person to be able to monitor their progress and how they deal with people. Ethics help a person a person to stand out in the work market. Ethics refer to the conduct of people in the business. Some of the decisions that people make require them to have good moral behaviors and ethics. Without does and don'ts that people have, many of them will end up making the wrong decisions. Ethics guides the behavior of people in their daily undertakings. The reason why many people today are making mistakes in the steps that they are taking is that they lack good ethical standards. Among the ethics in decision making discussed in this paper will be a commitment, consciousness, and competency. It is true to say that any good decision should be effective and ethical.
Importance of Ethics in Decision Making
Ethical decisions are those who demonstrate responsibility, fairness, respect and caring. They are consistent with patriotic citizenship. These become the foundation for the perfect decision making in life issues. The more people learn to embrace ethical decisions the more they will realize more achievements in life (Brown, Trevino, & Harrison, 2005). The ground rules for behaviors should be based on good decision making. The reason for the increased losses in business is due to lack of adherence to the ethics that a person should possess. Taking an example of a person who is in addiction yet expects to work normally and achieve more success will limit them from making the right financial decisions. Such people will always make the wrong moves in their daily jobs. If they happen to run businesses, they will not last long because of lack of proper moral standards.
Another part is the effective decisions which are measured by their success. Whenever a decision that was made is achieved, it is said to be effective. Anytime decisions are not meeting the goals then they might be termed as a failure. Many people are not able to make effective decisions mainly because they do not understand between immediate and longer range goals (Weihrich, & Koontz, 2014). The global ethics on decisions making is not limited to having good behaviors and the ability of people to monitor their progress. Therefore adapting to the new cultures require a person to adapt the diverse cultures that people have across the world in the global marketplace (Davis, Johnson, & Ohmer, 2011). The organization leaders should always have an understanding of the right behavior. They should be able to interact with people from other cultures and work well with them.
Success in the global marketplace requires a person to learn other people view of life. It is needful for them to understand the right behaviors that they should portray if they have to succeed. Meeting the clients will require the multinational business to adjust their standards and learn how to inculcate the different point of view of the people from other cultures (Glover, 2012). In the Middle East, there are emerging challenges on whether good ethical decisions still should be put in place with the consideration that many of the people originate from other countries (Mahmood, 2015). They are in the dilemma of determining which the good decision that people should consider is. Some of the global challenges that these businesses face are whether they should open more doors to changes in the cultural dimensions of the people that they target with their products.
Evidence of Ethical Issues in The Middle East
The increased number of people in the Middle East have led to the collapse of the culture of the people doing business in these nations. Some of the product is not acceptable to the cultures that they have hence they need to make adjustments in their daily business (Goetsch, & Davis, 2014). People in such business tend to face some of the obstacles since some people think that these things are okay and they are acceptable. They end up losing many clients. The sale of the pork meat is not accepted in the Islamic culture but if people who want to do business (Messick, & Bazerman, 2011). People might opt to put the big blame on the employees who do not have a problem with these beliefs. The existing cultural norms limit the multinational firms in the Middle East in their progress in the jobs that they do.
Another ethical issue that has arisen in our day to day activities is the fact that many people argue that some of these things do not hurt any person. They claim that some of the misconduct that certain group of people might be having do not affect other people. The issue is based on the fact that some of the global ethical principles might be violated, but as long they are in line with the behavior of people (Thorne, Ferrell, & Ferrell, 2011). Some of the laws guarding the behavior of people might be limiting people to work in these places. One of the fact that remains is that people are different and they have diverse views on some issues of controversy (Shapiro, & Stefkovich, 2016). Each person should pay respect to what others believe in and should at all times consider the differences that exist between the people.
The assumption that it is a good cause makes people assume the challenges that people face in their daily interaction. Some of the favoritism that people do are because of having people they are from the same tribe. Without this consideration that people end up making others slaves and disregard their ideas and hence they cannot be able to make any business deal together. The conflict of interest in some areas of business has reduced the ethical standard that people have in life. Setting good procedure that prevents the conflict of interest that people may have is very important. It is important for people to listen to the ideas that other people also have (Brown, & Trevino, 2016). Some of the multinational business that does not monitor the religious effect on their progress.
Some traditions are very harmful and may not be in line with the ethical standards hence if proper monitoring of their effects might lead to massive failure of the intended progress. The religious freedoms that must be allowed for each in a workplace have allowed many of the religious denominations to allow their followers accept other also as equal to them. Recently, there are a lot of arguments based on whether these people have a common mind or not in ammeters of the business (Hanges et al., 2016). The research also has been set to determine whether these religious beliefs act as an obstacle to the development of the multinational businesses.
Reasons Why Organizations Fail to Have Proper Interpersonal Skills
Taking an example of the oil industries which have expanded their markets across the world, they are encountering many ethical challenges where there has been a lot of conflict between the workers. They are not able to monitor their progress in the production process. It is an important thing for the businesses to check if they have all they need to succeed. Assumptions that are made by many require more analysis of the things that might hinder progress (Bazerman, & Moore, 2013). Some of the clients might run away from the business since they do not have the necessary checks of the ethical standards.
If I have to react toward the challenges that organizations are facing, then an understanding of the globally accepted ethical issues is necessary. Ignorance of the ethical standards has made many people fail to meet the standards required in the multinational businesses. Understanding other people culture is very important to make sure that they meet the needs of the people. Many of the nations do not have mechanisms to monitor the right ethical issues. The global issues affecting the moral standards of the people include the lack proper language and culture that will guide the behavior of a people in a multinational organization. Hence it is equally important for people to respect and consider the beliefs and views of other people. Without a good and clear understanding of the importance of the right standards in some matters, people will continually offend each other. Therefore, as seen the global ethical issues cannot be ignored of there will be peace and progress in these businesses.
