Education is a basic human right that enables students to build on more successful and prosperous lives and societies, helping them to achieve social welfare and economic prosperity. Access to the internet is important to the achievement of adequate information to help improve the quality of the education offered (Brandstrom 30). It opens a path of a lot of information, educational resources, and knowledge; hence the learning opportunities in and away from the class increase. Lecturers in colleges have adopted a style where they use online materials to make preparations for lessons for their classes and extend their learning range. The teaching methods that are supported by the internet play a major role in helping teachers to offer more consideration to the necessities of their pupils, where they support shared learning. All education inequalities are, therefore, easily rectified as the students, both male and female, get equal treatment.

The internet has also created a lot of advancements in technology, creating more efficient ways to deliver education to students. Regardless of the many debates and criticisms that different people generate concerning students using the internet, it contributes to the students' growth and education, making it hard to eradicate its use on various education grounds (Brandstrom 33). The internet world is always active, making it easier for students to complete their research projects, work, and assignments. They, therefore, have better up-to-date information than students that do not use the internet in their study and research.

The use of the internet has also helped to create new socializing methods as it provides the students with effective interacting methods. Various applications that use the internet permit students to get meaningful ways through which they interact with one another and build positive relationships while studying (Geladze 67). The internet has also made it easier for students to complete online assignments through the use of websites designed for writing assignments. Students and teachers find it easier, interacting with each other as online education garners more popularity among global students.

Students are also able to learn from home as they go to work without having to sacrifice either of them. Many universities and colleges have created online programs that students use to further their studies in the form of free courses on all subjects (Geladze 69). Universities such as Harvard, Stanford, and Yale have free courses on several subjects accessible for free to all students. Such courses come in the form of video lectures as well as notes that create easy access to free lecturers, especially to impoverished communities.

Some people argue that the internet is not effective in education use because almost half of the population in the world has no direct access to the internet. Many people are unable to access the internet, or they are not conversant with how it works, making it hard for them to access the online materials that are freely posted by various institutions (Brandstrom 35). They also argue that the traditional forms of classroom settings in various parts of the world are not easily replaced by the usage of the internet in learning.

The changes being experienced as more people adopt the internet are complex and are often compromised as various critics discourage the use of the internet as a means of studying. Other people also argue that the use of internet will make students lose focus as they focus more on entertainment instead of learning (Brandstrom 36). However, the truth of the matter is that the internet has made learning in colleges easier as more universities are adopting it to communicate with huge numbers of people at the same time. Research is easier with the use of the internet, and the students that must miss classes have found it easier to receive class notes and study. All colleges should adopt this strategy and introduce the usage of internet.

Conclusion

The importance of the internet to students surpasses the disadvantages that it has, but parents must be watchful to make sure that they use it to get knowledge and facilitate their career growth. The internet has also led to extensive changes in academic dynamics and their way of functioning. The widespread use of the internet has created chances for the spread of knowledge to wider ranges of students than has ever been realized in the past. People should support the introduction of the internet in colleges because it has had many benefits in e-learning where all texts, quizzes, assignments, and tests are available online with no need for direct meetings, especially between students and the teachers.
