H1: Immigration Contributes to Increased Crime Rates Essay Example

The above hypothesis addresses the increasing number of crimes committed on a daily basis and how immigration of people into the country has contributed to the increasing number of crimes. The hypothesis specifically targets the number of immigrants that have been arrested within the borders of the country due to the indulgence into criminal activities. The records collected from the relevant sources such as the police stations will help in the realization of the trend taken by the people who move into the country then get involved in the acts of crime. Through the weighing of immigrants against the detainees or prisoners, then it is possible to decide on the influence created by people who get into the country (Freedman, M., Owens, E., & Bohn, S. 2018). Therefore, the hypothesis is testable through the evaluation of the general increase in the criminal activities within the target population then deriving the number of immigrants responsible for criminal activities. Graphical analysis involving the two comparisons will be developed for a given period of time thus finding out the influence of immigration to crime in the country. In addition, the incorporation of investigative interviews from the concerned participants such as residents and the authorities will increase the opinions brought forth about immigration of foreigners into the country either legally or illegally. It is important to understand that the illegal smuggling of people from other parts of the globe into the country is a major contributor to drug smuggling in the country as well in accordance to the report developed in a span of five years. This means that if at all the smuggling business can be dealt with totally or partially, then there will be the consequent reduction for the relative criminal activities. The control variables which are developed from the hypothesis include attitudes of people towards foreign-inspired crimes and the trend in the immigration of people into the country (Jacobs, L., Meeusen, C., & d'Haenens, L. 2016). In addition, introducing the number of criminal activities carried out by foreign citizens to the research paper will be of greater benefit to the research because there will be easy identification of the change recorded over a given span of time (five years).

The above variables will greatly affect the dependent variable of increasing crime which will then help in the creation of the necessary conclusions to the paper. In addition, the two control variables will help in the acquisition of the intended information in relation to the immigration act. Therefore, through the independent variables, it is possible to develop the investigative approaches such as the interviews with the authorities and the general public by random sampling to get the intended number of participants (Baker, S. R. 2015). The people's attitude will be measured by the number of opinions generated where similar ideas will be sorted differently from diverting opinions. In addition, the opinions from residents of the targeted areas will give the actual image of the immigration influence to the public who live with the immigrants. The records of previous cases from the administration stations will help the research to get the numerical data thus making the relative calculations. The conceptual definitions of the above variables are important for the research because the definitions will set the pace under which the research objectives will be created. However, there are the restrictive boundaries which will be set during the research to enable the creation of relative comparisons and analysis of the presented data.
