Introduction
As earlier stated, the international business platform is always in need of the best negotiators. For the best results, it is important to identify the weakness that may be a hindrance to the results. Negotiating skills should meet SMART criteria (Watt,1994). This is to means, the goals established should be specific. For this topic, the goals are about identifying goals for international business negotiations. All negotiations methodology should be able to deliver the results by bringing the best agreement on the table. As a business representative, learning from my past negotiations experience will enable the deliverance of the best outcome in the next stage of the agreement. For better negotiation skills, it is important to come up with ways of managing time. For better results, it is not wise to be holding too many issues at the same time (Chan, Swan, & Donnelly, 2018). The main objective remains to be negotiations for the international business that must be accomplished. Therefore, to achieve the best results, it is important to come up with other strategic goals to improve negotiation goals. Therefore, setting SMART goals will indicate that there will be a clarification of goals, emphasis on energies, managing time and assets productively, and increase someone’s chances of achieving what you want in life.
Goals
Improving on my leadership skills as the negotiation ideas is a collective agenda. After being selected to lead the negotiating team, it is important to learn the most important factors to consider. Ideas have to be collected from records, analyzed, and presented in a well-sequenced manner. As a leader, it is necessary to act on the time framework. As a team, we had to present our argument within the first two weeks before the negotiation of real issues. This means the team has to use the first to a week to collect, analyze, and suggest the best procedure of negotiating. Being a leader entails a lot of skills, as listed.
A study accomplished about the same time delivers backing for the association amongst leader and team positivity; trust in managing this team is easily earned, which facilitates deliverance of the best outcome; right leadership results in positive negotiation outcomes (Chan, Swann, & Donnelly, 2018). The positivity in leadership abilities will facilitate the deliverance of the best skills, as a team, we shall be targeting the presenting of 10 points that will be the core for winning the business negotiations. All our points will be presented in two hours by five representatives in our team. At all this time, as a leader, it is important to remain positive.
Integrity is another goal that will make sure the negotiation process is a success. To be open, honest, and faithful is important in deliverance. For this reason, as a leader, I will disclose to the organization that we need two weeks, which will be enough for the preparation for the negotiation. The first week will be used for data collection and arrangement. The team will require $2500 for the upkeep and collection of data. Also, the team members will all have to record daily activities and transactions. I will be leading in providing all the necessary figures to the team. When negotiating, all the figures from our organization will be presented to other partners to improve our commitment to achieving the agreements in the two weeks set.
It is not easy to achieve an agreement without hard work. As much as it is necessary to concentrate on working smartly, it is also necessary to put more effort into achieving the two-week target easily. As the negotiating team, we shall be handling two collection tasks every day for three days. The next two days will be used for analyzing and proofing the authenticity of the work. To effectively prepare, it is important to work extra hard to meet the time as well as completing all the tasks as required (Williams, 2019). As the team leader, I will be working until the last hour when everybody will be through with their job. I will ensure that I will be working for 10 hours a day. For these 10 hours, it is important to analyze not less than three reports concerning the business, which will be used in the negotiating process. After all the data collection, analyzing, and proofing, it will be necessary to arrange all the data needed into one report.
Determination is important to effectively meet the demand of the organization during the international business negotiation. It is necessary to believe despite the $2500 mere budget, and the team will effectively negotiate at list three international business deals (Williams, 2019). Meeting top world leaders from different and successful organizations is not an easy matter. It is a determination that will keep everything running. To speak for not less than one hour while presenting the important issues using the foreign language rather than the native language will need nothing more than determination. As a leader, I will need the courage to personally approach two successful managers to make business deals.
