Global strategic management is concerned with the manner in which organizations are guided toward globalization based on various management processes, systems, and theories. The report, therefore, focuses on the automotive industry with the inclusion the initial decisions which were taken during the period of simulation, dynamic group strategies, impacts that define the strategies, and theories of strategic management. It is notable that part of global strategic management assessment group simulation (game) specialized in the automotive industry. The main goals of the game were explained by seminar tutors in the first week, after assessment, the game was played weekly for more than ten weeks. The primary objective of the game got based on the management of the auto-move institution in a competitive environment based on the adoption of strategic decisions which were made on a timely fashion.

Analysis of Leadership and Group Dynamics

Our group consisted of 5 members who collectively formed the "board," at the beginning 2 of us were not available in the first week, but the rest got access to the game in week 1. The seminar tutor provided us with the password and username and explained how things should go. One of the group members, member R, got on track after going through the group structure. He met the rest of the member on the day of decision making, a situation which made everyone agree to make him the group leader. After two years of being actively involved in matters group discussions and presentations, we came to agree that groups should hire leaders who can effectively deliver and manage group discussions and members (unitary and pluralistic perspective chapter 2). Group leaders must demonstrate that their deed is a replica of the needs of every member. As such, member R was in a position of being the leader we wanted. He was able to manage the team and involve member in key decisions. He was also able to balance the group discussions effectively. In a nutshell, he was a true definition of an effective leader. All members gained the knowledge on how things work in the auto-move industry and what considerations contribute to administrative and financial decisions. One of the leader missions was to discuss the decisions and to clarify why we should do that.

Equally notable, the group was required to make a necessary decision every week which was to be dependent on previous weekly feedback. The feedback was useful because it served as an eye-opener. Every member was able to realize his or her mistake and gain experience or skills on how to resolve other issues which were deemed significant. The challenge was, however, noted on the existence of stiff competition between all the groups. Most of the groups had recorded exemplary performance, an issue which made it difficult to come up with one winner. Everyone did well and, therefore, we were all winners, but somehow, there was a number one amongst the winners. We also managed to change the attitude of some of the members. The latecomers were made to understand that their role in the groups was important hence were able to change their attitude and gave significant contributions. The group leader also played a pivotal role in motivating the members hence the overall exemplary performance in the group.

The analysis of the first phase strategy

The first two weeks were given as a trailer in the purpose of making the users more familiar with the type of product (cars) and defining the targets. The company had four types of cars, family, and images, low cost and eco-friendly (Ali, Kaur, and Jaramillo, 2018). Each of them had different unique features that required specific strategies. Regarding family cars, we focused on improving comfortability, safety and a touch of technology; to satisfy the customer and make the car worth its price. I believe we were quality oriented and priced fair while talking the decisions for this specific car. The same consideration was spread to other cars with the aim of ensuring that customers were allowed to make choices and decisions based on specific considerations as lauded in the previous sentence.

Theories that supported our Group Discussions

These theories are aligned to strategic management but contributed significantly in shaping some of the critical decisions which we made. Some of the theories included the resource-based theory, the knowledge-based theory, the agency theory, and network theory. The groups used the resource-based theory to understand the manner in which the auto-move industry operates. The theory looks at the industry as a bundle of capabilities and resources. It looks at the industry based on the financial, the physical, and the human, and intangible products (Castillod, 2016). The theory enabled the members of different groups to understand that the auto-move industry is not an exception of other firms. It also translates its resources and capabilities to a valuable strategic advantage. It is from this advantage that the industry becomes competitive because every firm will then focus on representing the advantages on the types of car produced - for example, the quality and affordable family cars. The knowledge-based theory was primarily concerned with imparting knowledge on the manner in which the auto-move industry operates (Montgomery, 2011).

The group leader was able to apply the theory in taking the group members through the entire operations of the industry and the nature of competition that exists among different firms. The discussion of this theory made one of the group members to bring the argument of the various players who are in the auto-move industry (Rosenberg and Ferlie, 2016). The discussion made the group leader introduce the next theory which is network-based. The theory concerned the connection between the players mentioned by the member. Such included the suppliers, the rivals, and other entities hence the existence of a high level of competition. The last theory we discussed to understand better other dynamics in the industry was the urgency theory. The theory helped us in understanding the incongruence that existed between the shareholders of the auto-move industry (Wheelen et al. 2017). Our group leader played a pivotal role in explaining the theories and how they are used in the auto-move industry. Conclusion

In summary, the report has touched on numerous issues with some involving the analysis of group leadership and dynamics, the analysis of the phase for strategy and other matters about the theories which were used. Most importantly, the groups registered exemplary performance with credits given to the leadership of the group leaders. The group members were equally not left out, and their significant contributions cannot be forgotten. After two years of discussion and presentations, we were certain that the determinant of every success is the leader. Our group leaders were a replica of effective leaders.
