Thesis Statement: The sex trafficking on children should be viewed as a transnational crime. Thus it requires strong international cooperation and strengthening of the legislation to control and curb this inhuman activity. The act of leaving the problem to a particular nation such as Barbados will be to limit any efforts to manage it.

Sex trafficking of children in Barbados remains dominant due to the constant lack of investigation and persecution from the government. The government established few trafficking investigations, but it failed to address the shortcomings in its anti-trafficking lawful structure or develop any trials of suspected trafficking criminals. Thus, this raises fears concerning impunity for children sex trafficking in Barbados. Moreover, Barbadian regulations seems not to forbid all types of human trafficking as well as failing to suggest penalties for the perpetrators of this igneous crimes. The law enforcement department in Barbadian allotted an inspector to solve human trading cases and the police performed only two sex trafficking investigations in 2012 (Segrave, 2017). This is an improvement since there were no investigations, convictions or persecutions accomplished during the previous reporting time.

The government of Barbados failed to completely adhere to the minimum standards for the abolition of human trafficking although it is making necessary improvements. The government has strengthened its legislation by establishing a written plan which if it can be executed it would play a key role to comply with the minimum principles that will abolish children sex trafficking in this region. As noted in the thesis statement, children sex trafficking is a transnational phenomenon although most of the victims are from the third world nations. Therefore, addressing this problem will require a combined, concentrated effort from the international humanitarian bodies such as UN to weed out this modern-day form of slavery.
