Both Saudi Arabia and Iran have been making gradual changes in solving gender equality issues. In Iran, the police authorities announced that they would no longer be punishing the women for not covering their heads but instead they would counsel the offenders. Additionally, in Saudi Arabian gender equality issues were not left behind. The state allowed women to participate in games. Women would be allowed to participate in the chess tournament. Additionally, both Saudi Arabia and Iran had permitted women to participate in weight lift in international tournaments. Additionally, they would soon be allowed to drive types of vehicles. As women in Saudi are celebrating the new laws that grant them a right to drive, in I ran, they have been enjoying these rights for a long period of time. However, by the fact that the laws on women dressing were loose, they would still continue to cover their heads in public.

There are various impetuses that link the changes in women rules. The competition between Iran and Saudi Arabia in loosening their tight rules against women could a contributing factor for the undergoing the changes. Some people are of the opinion that positive changes in rules in one country would have an effect in neighboring countries because no state was ready to be associated with oppressive rules on women. Each country wants to earn credit for abolishing the stringent rules against women. However, some groups in Iran have a different opinion on what could be the reason behind the changes. They argue that young people have been becoming resistant to the laws on women dress code. On the same point, the group thought that resistance increased the number of cases arraigned in courts and counseling classes had was a good alternative (Barnard 1).

Analysis of the article

Iran and Saudi Arabia have at loggerheads because on political, economic and religious issues. Additionally, Women in both countries have for a long time suffered due to the oppressive rules that saw them not able to fully enjoy a modern lifestyle like other women in other countries. A complete overhaul in those rules has received a wide applaud from not only people within the boundaries of the two countries but also, from the international communities. The positive completion among the Saudi Arabia government and that of Iran has played a vital role in advancing the rights of women. They can now enjoy a modern lifestyle like any other women around the world. Women in both countries did not enjoy watching live tournaments in playgrounds have now been abolished. Moreover, women would participate in new international sports. The new law will benefit women who qualified to participate in international tournaments. Like their neighboring counterparts in Iran women in Saudi would also enjoy driving vehicles of their choice (Barnard 1).

Both Saudi and Iran are Islamic nations that have strict laws against women. The right to liberty for women in Saudi Arabia was much restricted compared to that of Iran. The Saudi Arabian Prince Mohammed is determined to see that woman in Saudi Arabia advance to modernity by loosening the strict religious laws. Women from both countries, within the borders or outside the border argue that it is pathetic that in both countries are up to date still in an argument of dress coding it is a significant move with massive benefits to the female gender. However, some groups argue that loosening the rules would encourage women to walk with their heads uncovered because they would no longer fear punishments from the authorities (Barnard 1).
