Introduction
It is almost a decade ago since Harley-Davidson became the most extensive motorcycle firm globally. Harley-Davidson was recognized as the leading producer of motorcycles globally, whereby that distributed motorcycles in over 60 nations through more than 200 dealers. Its majority of dealers originated from the United States of America. The main prosperity of the Harley-Davidson Company majorly depended on the economy of the United States as well as the loyalty of its prospective customers. In every situation, you need to have to be ready and prepared for anything. In the current era and the current government, Harley-Davidson had experienced a significant setback due to the decrease of the prospective customers in the United States. Since Harley-Davidson obtained much profit from the international markets, and the current government has a policy that states that the United States should be given the priority, things have drastically changed.
Expanding
Expanding the business to mote nations will help the firm gain profit. Also, they can tend to build the manufacturing plants in these nations where there is low operation costs will enable the firm to maximize the profit. It will also help them cut the tariffs from the growing economies. As a CEO, you need to weigh the matter; this is whereby if you decide to internationalize the business, there is a like1ly hood of losing the previous domestic customers, and also there will be considerable spending of dollars in market capitalization because of the distortion of the social media posts. There is also a steep competition from other firms from different parts of the world, i.e., from japan and Europe, because of the difference in cost.
The strategy is said to help save millions of dollars, which in one way or the other might be used in factors such as paying for anti-pollution programs and waste management programs. When the CEO decides to go as per this factor, Harley-Davidson will have to research and create many innovations to make their sales in the United States. I believe that if Harley-Davidson increases its customer base universally, then there will be a reduction in the cost.
New Products
By launching the new and improved products and releasing them in the market, Harley-Davidson believes that it will provide a vast range of work,s automatically creating a more extensive customer base. By doing so, Harley-Davidson thinks that the idea will help in attracting a more varied client base. To achieve these, the CEO needs to strategize on how to compete with international competitors interns of scheme and price tag.
The long term strategy of building to million Harley-Davidson riders was believed to help develop its customer base in the United States. The system was proposed to help in building and increasing the domestic market. It was thought to be not affected by the highly impulsive and capricious national priorities.
The strategy will help in retaining the existing governing body as well as retaining their prospective customers currently in the United States. Everything needs to be dealt with strategically; when Harley-Davidson decides to only focus on domestic marketing, it will limit the firm from overseas growth as well as more immense opportunities which, in one way or the other, can provide Harley-Davidson with a gigantic profit to the firm.
Another long term strategy of Harley-Davidson firm is about the deliverance greater on the invested amount. The process will help the stock price of the firm to rise. When the system is achieved, it can be of more generous help to the firm.
A new strategy has to be developed as a CEO because achieving the proposed long term strategy is very hard in the United States considering the high cost of operation in the United States compared to internationally wherein evolving states, the operational cost is very minimal.
Conclusion
In conclusion, as we have seen, sticking to Harley-Davidson's long term strategy has many limitations. According to the long term strategy of Harley-Davidson, I agree that it is essential to increase its customer base in the United States so that to have strong roots domestically. As we have seen, Harley-Davidson needs to decide to expand the market worldwide, considering its future and long term growth.
