Fahrenheit 451: Reading and Expression Under Threat - Essay Sample

Introduction

In Fahrenheit 451, a riveting story unfolds in the storyline, which features a fictional future society, which is probably America one where the reading is outlawed, and a ban on the reading is implemented and imposes. The authorities have put the effect on the prohibition by burning the books carried out by the firemen. When having a glimpse of this novel, it is easy to agree that the freedom of expression and the reading culture is expressed through writing and reading is under threat through the use of media such as television. Above all, the book has revealed that people have developed a worse enmity concerning the text and the censorship that the culture of ignorance and the spirit of carelessness is taking its roots. Findings show that there is loose of intellectuals through society. Through reading Fahrenheit has provided a perfect revelation of the society which is confused and is at war with itself (Hammel 3). Guy Montag comes to his place and finds out the wife has overdosed and the neighbor whose new keeps reminding him of the life he leads, which is unfulfilling. Although he participated in the burning of the books, Montage is in a situation which he cannot understand why he still burns the books as this is evident when he stole one of the books, which was one of the suicidal woman's magazines.

Montag, however, has a pile of books that he collected from the victims whose booked were burn which was carried out by the firemen. There is an argument that his wife on the solution to do with the books which were stolen, and through this argument, Montag gets to open his eyes, and he realizes that he was disgust by his society (Dolan 4). Montag did realize society's pretense of happiness the moment he read in the poem from one of the books which had been stolen. This poem, however, made one of his friend's wives cry even though she was maintaining the happy picture of life through her. The society madness, however, the onslaught on itself as it reaches the epitome when Beatty, the chief of Montage work, orders him to take down his house by burning it. From all the events, a dispute developed between The Beatty, who is the chief fireman, and Montage. A situation of war breaks out, and the incineration of all the cities begins. This is a clear reflection of the confusion of the permeation in society.

In the article, however, we find out the themes; this kind of analysis, however, gives the reader the perfect view of the machination, which is explicit to the state, thus promoting censorship and the information flow (James 4). It is, however, very easy for the reader to have a glimpse of the blatant indictment, which is linked with the censorship as the states support it. The foremen, however, are on the government payroll, and all of their works were to impose the ban on all the books. Through the books, the situation which is currently in the entire world concerns censorship. It is cheap for any given reader to find out that the current world situation on the censorship and the gagging of the media through close reflection and subtle are what the books cause. But to be more impressive, it is that the precise reflection of the results of the television in our society, especially when it comes to the reading of literature.

The insulations of this book, which is considered to be more exciting, are that the book displays the people as their enemies. There is a discard that is considered to be blatant of each other among human beings, the alienation of the culture, which is mainly fronted by the media. In Fahrenheit, Montag's wife and Mildred is a clear indication which represents another current world that is likely to turn into the future as all the appreciation is granted to the media (Mourgos 12). Mildred in this situation spends much of her time with her friends to watch the television wall in the parlor; hence they intentionally ignore the problems which are around them until the issues are gotten rid off. There is the only preoccupation for them in which it is the scheduled program. Clarisse, however, helps Montage to realize that what he was doing was not equally good to society. Within that context, we see her character, which represents the voice of the reason as to why there is an exit of the chaotic world, the voices which question the goings-on in the society despite the different obstacles which exist (Somers 3). The book, however, has infectious quotes that provoke the imagery that explicitly pt the role of entertainment, mostly the television, the lack of each other's concern, and the casual attitudes which have to come in characterization to the modern world.

The fact that all the event occurred in America, through fictions is considered to be a stark reminder of the repression through the burning of the books, and it is a very serious event which can take place even in the most society which is considered to be advanced. Any reader will, therefore, find it very eye capturing and interesting, primarily through the discovery that most of the hatred in the books comes from the people. As seen in the Fahrenheit 451, it shows a clear illustration of a masterpiece in its erne. This novel, however, is analyzed by different scholars who did much research and reviews of the books. The people have become slaves to the internet and the deletion set. However, people don't even bother to ask the root cause of all the crises and the armed conflicts, which has become the features of the 21st century. There is a promotion that is avid of violence promotion in which the children have accessed through the playing of video games, and the problem of drug spiraling is out of control (James 5).

Reading the books, however, gives a deeper understanding of Montag when comparing the current society to the society of Montage and how it represents the average modern person in our world today (Nichols 8). Books burning and the incarnation of the city is, however, a symbol that represents the problem that had to bedevil the world as a whole through the enslavement of the entertainment. The real picture of what most of the people undergo comes through the attempts of suicide. It is, however, easy to recommend that Fahrenheit 451 as the book which can give a reflection of the society in which the people live nowadays.
