Introduction

According to (Yasmin , Naseem , Sohail ,2019) , In some culture ,wedding demands many rituals and events like feasting together. The wedding is a diverse ritual spread over in many cases, three days, although preparatory activities, including some usual prayers and gatherings, start long before and continue afterwards.(Yasmin et al, 2019). This relates with the Chinese weddings Chinese and Pakistani wedding has undergone a significant level of transition from the traditional to modern approaches such as like the meals served, wedding invitation and the special attention paid to the parents. The changing nature is because of the limited respect for the preservation of culture. This is because people are beginning to feel that the new wedding approaches emerging from the western world is more valuable (Zaidi, 2016).

According to (Dong & An, 2014), China and Pakistan are among the countries, which had changed on the application of their traditional ways in the wedding. For a long time, they have remained conservative during which they never welcomed the foreign ideas in wedding. However, according to (Zaidi, 2016) felt that with globalization, the wedding ceremonies in the current era had changed considerably. They are beginning to embrace the idea of borrowing cultures from other parts of the world.

Why it is Changing

According to Zaidi (2016), the Chinese and Pakistani weddings are changing because of the interaction with the western world. The recorded changes could be a result of the emerging as legal frameworks, which provide that the individuals who plan for weddings must embrace the modem culture. According to (Gibbons and Poelker ,2013) gave the instance of many marriage laws, which apply in both China and Pakistan, most of which are derived by borrowing from the western world. The strategies initially applicable in the western world are currently incorporated in the local wedding events. According to (Ji and Yeung,2014), as a result, the Asians are gradually neglecting their traditional values as applied in the wedding. It is also important to note that the changing forms and approaches can also be attributed to the effect of globalization; occasions are currently taking universally recognized methods with the regional values in the two countries diminishing. On this note, they emphasized that the individual is trying to demonstrate their respect for human beings. They therefore fulfil this by opting to organize formal events

How it is Changing

According to (Zaidi, 2016), there are many aspects of change in wedding affecting these two countries; for one, individuals have been granted the freedom to choose a partner who will serve as a lifetime spouse. According to (Du and Dong 2013), In contrast to the traditional wedding, everything would be planned early enough. According to (Yasmin, Naseem, and Sohail (2019), In the modern era, the bride and the bridegroom have the authority and the freedom to determine the course of their wedding as long as they can afford the cost of their desires. This is due to the choice of the people to consider the aspect of value whereby ladies choose men in whom they believe in having the potential to be a good husband.

What Matters Most

Several factors are considered in Chinese and Pakistani weddings. This is because they are considered as the bases for the determination of the value of the union. However, the situations are treated differently depending on the beliefs of the different individuals, which vary with the perceptions and beliefs as the acceptance of the western culture is slowly dominating the occasions of the type in the countries. This is because there are still many people who have chosen to be conservatives of the traditions. Du& Dong, 2013). One of the factors which matter most is the type of meal served at a Chinese and traditional Pakistani wedding; the weddings are very important ceremonies which involves eating specific and special means like ducks and lobsters. For the Pakistani wedding, meals are categorized in terms of menus with food like Raita, salad and Briyani. The other factor is the respect for the parents from either side, which the bride and the bridegroom must embrace.

Aim

The research aims to accomplish a study on why traditional Chinese and Pakistani weddings are changing. To investigate how and why they are changing from past to present and whether people still follow the traditional rituals.

Methodology

There are specific approaches that the researcher will utilize to accomplish the study with the focus on achieving the research aim. For data collection, the research will use the technique of the questionnaire. The choice is based on limited interruptions it will cause to the resource persons since they will be able to fill the required details when it is most convenient for them.
