The increase of smartphones is due to its affordability and has impacted the users both adversely and positively depending on usage.
The availability of smartphones across the world enhances connectivity. The smartphones are internet enabled. Therefore, people have access to smartphones can belong to all the social media sites (Hyong 10). This means that they can be connected through messages and calls with the rest of the world. Additionally, the availability of smartphones enables people to make friendship via social media sites with strangers from other countries. The process enhances connectivity, and it allows individuals to share ideas that can better their lives. Most people belong to different social media sites. There are high chances that anybody who has a smartphone belongs to some social media sites (Gika & Grant 15). This enhances communication and the sharing of ideas. The availability of smartphones has improved communication. Smartphones enable its users to conduct video calls and send emails to different people. Therefore, individuals who have access to smartphones can enjoy more connectivity compared to people who use phones that are not internet enabled.
Smartphones aid students in learning. People who have access to smartphones can comfortably read and research for materials on the internet. Smartphones allow them to download books which are useful in their studies (Hyong 23). Moreover, access to smartphones enables students to connect with their peers and teachers easily. Students can create learning groups where they could collectively revise and exchange ideas on different topics. Furthermore, smartphones can connect students with their teachers. Individuals are not willing to do anything on their own. For example, instead of calculating sums, users opt for the phone's calculator.
The wide availability of smartphones has both negative and positive attributes. The rise in the rate of smartphone users across the world has increased connectivity between people from different countries because it has made communication easy. Students who have access to smartphones have access to numerous educational materials that can aid them in their studies. The adverse impact of the increased use of smartphones is the addiction and health challenges related to its usage.
