Introduction
The proposed view is that delinquency among youths is closely related to the families and the environment in which they grow. Delinquency is a state whereby a juvenile is involved in crime like stealing and vandalism. Many juvenile offenders are the ones who are brought up in families that are involved in drug use and violence (Aquilino, 1996). Some of them get exposed to conditions that promote their indulgence into crime and this can be controlled if the environment is managed in a better way. If the environment and the exposure is controlled, the rate of crime among the juvenile could be reduced (Fergusson, Horwood & Lynskey, 1992). The significance of the research is to propose ways of reducing the exposure to crime among the juveniles. The hypothesis states that the family structure determines the transitions that people have in life. It also states that a child's development is highly dependent on the family, where they come from, and the family structure can determine the delinquency of the child and their use of drugs. The hypothesis is supported by several dependent and independent variables and the outcomes show that there is a close relationship between them and crime.
Literature Review
The family structure forms a base for the children to get modeled. The background in the family and the neighborhood affect the delinquency of the child. The literature review of the topic indicates that there is a lot of research done on the relationship between crimes, the family and drug use (Haas, Farrington, Killias, & Sattar, 2004). The use of quantitative methodology helps to quantify the opinions and behaviors that affect the delinquency of the child. Previous researchers have shown that there is a close relationship between the family and the delinquency of a child. However, there are still several gaps that need further research in future. The research will analyze the existing research and accomplish the research on the impacts of drugs and family structures on delinquency.
Methodology
The research process is based on quantitative data is more reliable and helps to identify the impacts of different factors (Brannen, 2017). Quantitative research helps to give reliable data based on facts as opposed to qualitative research that is based on opinions only (Choy, 2014). The data from different arms of the government like the defense can be used to provide more information on how the delinquency level is affected by the family. Data evaluation and conclusion is outcome based, which means the conclusion is a summary of the outcomes of the research done.
