Introduction
The process of strategic planning is time-consuming. Utilization of a system in the most effective way is crucial in helping the organization complete its objectives as well as the goals. Additionally, it assists in ensuring that the organization's vision is achieved to the highest standard possible. There are always problems and issues to solve when it comes to the implementation of a strategic plan. The process of planning takes into consideration the assumption and numerous other unforeseen factors that must be considered. The concept of strategic planning is, therefore, a critical idea that helps the organization to its framework for the next few years. In this way, it will provide a significant idea to the stakeholders, whether they are internal or external.
The Administration Issue and Why It's a Concern to the Public
One of the primary administrative issues of the strategic plan is funding. Undeniably, these strategic plans assume that the implementation will take place in somewhat a stable environment and that the revenue of the city will remain constant. The funding issue appears to be a huge constraint for the Scottsdale Police Department. Notably, most part all of the funding is set up through already appropriated funds. The remaining portion is created through grants or RICO funding. The financing of the Scottsdale Police Department is aimed at catering for the administrative issues as well as training the police officers to become ethically sound. In the current state agencies, having the officers that are ethically and morally sound is critical and that the administration should deal with. Funding can help generate considerable accountability in the activities. The finds will be crucial for the development of the southern Scottsdale together with central Scottsdale because they have combined two neighbourhoods. The northern section of the city is still growing and therefore does not require an establishment.
Scrutiny and review of the Scottsdale police department's strategic plan reveal that there is an overall good review of it. Notably, the plan breaks down major goals and presents the smaller, more manageable subjects. In my view, there are sufficient measures that have been presented in the plan to review these three years on a successful beginning. It is further encouraging that the plans to review the 3-year plan on an annual basis is underway. It implies that the development and presentation of the plan to both the external and internal stakeholders means that there are going to be different groups would want to accomplish different goals. The division of the goals into smaller objectives and consequently making them clear and concise will enable the department to establish itself for a proper transition when it moves from one objective to another. In the same way, the achievement of vital accomplishment will be critical in promoting the stakeholders. It will also enhance the reaffirmation of the effectiveness of the strategic plan itself.
Influence of Stakeholders
It is important to note that the current strategic plan intends to address how it can work together with the local communities, how to enhance its effectiveness, improve the working capacity of its human resources and ensure there is adequate security to the members of the public. The stakeholders would want to have different accomplishment depending on their interest. However, aligning the stakeholders' goals with those of organization will help to establish a proper foundation of the specific goals that the Scottsdale police department must accomplish. Ordinarily, the organization must be able to separate from the key stakeholders between the primary target as well as the person or entity with the authority, power or the influence to provide the organization with what it seeks. The information about the strategic plan must therefore be tailored for the respective target. An agency, Scottsdale police department in this case, must, therefore, answer what's on it for me" questions that may emerge inevitably. As a law enforcement department, Scottsdale police strategic plan for the employees must be proper to address how the change will increase the efficiency, esprit de corps, or any other appropriate cultural issues. Regarding the public, the information must inform them about their neighbourhoods' safety and that their tax dollars will be better subjected to significant expenses. For the major stakeholders, the information about the strategic plan must respond to the solution why the investment, financial or otherwise, will be needed to pay their future dividends
Potential Detractors to the Plan
A funding source constitutes a critical role making sure that different projects are completed within the required timeline and standards. Regarding the plan, therefore, several potential detractors exist. In reality, insufficient information about finances acts as a significant weakness that must be taken into consideration to make strategic planning more appealing and comprehensive. This challenge is likely to cause a tremendous impact on the overall outcome. Correctly, the implementation of this strategic plan can fail because there will be no sufficient amount of money to run each project, and this is also likely to impair the application. This challenge may, therefore, because a tremendous inhibition of the achievement of the set objectives, especially those connected with the local community.
