Moods and emotions are related in one way or other. However, they have differences in them. Therefore the paper will discuss how mood and emotion relate as well as how they differ from each other. It will also discuss the causes and effects of the moods as well as emotions. Finally, it will outline the methodologies or ways to manages bad moods and emotions.

Feelings are the core cause of both emotions and moods. The wide range of feeling impacts different reactions on people concerning their perception of the cause of the impression they have. Some of the feeling that causes emotions are usually certain events, within a short duration of occurrence and also bears a specific nature. Such feelings include sadness, happiness, surprise, fear, anger, excitement, as well as disgust. On the other hand, the mood is mainly caused by unclear feeling which not specific but rather general. The feeling lasts longer than that of the emotion. Under such circumstance, the feeling might be positive or even negative. The excitement may accompany the good mood that one does not understand their cause as well as why he or she has them. There are always mixed evidence about the weather, but most seem to be driven by particular weather conditions that at times may confine them in having an unclear feeling. The stock market also may induce emotions and moods, which in most cases depends on how good the day has been. Stress also worsens the moods, and some extend it might cause mood disorders such as depressions, that is when it prolongs. However, the mood may also be induced positively through physical, informal, and dining activities. The connection and great relationship with your friend may turn your bad mood to a good one. Another way to manage negative moods and emotions is to ensure that you get enough sleep or rather quality sleep. In the study of the mood and emotions, women tend to experience emotions intensively and at times lasts longer than that it frequently does to men. On the different expression of emotions in an organization setting, the interpersonal interaction might sometime induce moods or rather feeling ("OB Chapter 4 - Emotions and Moods", 2019). The address and reaction over co-workers may extensively drive one to moods or even to emotions of happiness or even sadness. All it matters is the relationship built-in work profession as well as ranks. The emotion can always be controlled by trying to act in positive display expressions. Otherwise, the felt emotion is often internal are never acknowledged by people around you. In such a case, one may have a mood that he or she experiences but rather does not understand its source.

Emotions and mood are so diverse, and for that reason, they tend to keep confusing, but in them, they are all caused by feeling and thoughts. The combination of the two produces a result that is either emotional or moody. However, emotions are different from moods in several ways. The divergences depend on the causes as well as time factors. Specific events or activities cause emotions. On the other hand, moods are caused by the general or unclear feeling that is neither defined nor identified. Emotions also are identified by their lasting time. They never last long, and therefore, they are brief feelings and reaction. Moods can be noticed when unclear feeling lasts longer than time duration the emotion occurs. Also, emotion occurs in numerous of them and in a specific nature. The mood only gives a general feeling that is neither clear on the cause. Facial expressions are a distinct character that is always portrayed in emotions. However, the mood never gives an impressive or suggestive facial expression, but it is only portrayed by general happiness or sadness. Several emotions are always seen or manifested in humans. They include the following anger, jealousy, contempt, disgust, joy, disappointment, happiness, embarrassment, frustration, enthusiasm, sadness, pride, fear, envy, surprise and love ("Moods and Emotions", 2019). The mood can be grouped into two categories, that is, positive and negative moods or simply bad and good moods. The sources of mood and emotions are defined, and therefore, there is a correlation between them. However, their sources do not change their difference. One of the causes is personality whereby different persons have different perceptions of a particular event, activity, or even nature. The character portrays the attitudes one has on events and reactions one might have. Such results lead to emotions and moods. Different persons experience different intensities of emotion well are others are much affected. It is clear that the different time of the day can also cause emotions and moods. For instance, negative feelings tend to be highest on Monday and lowest on Fridays ("Moods and Emotions", 2019). For working people or employed people the positive moods peaks during the middle day. They are always in that mood since they have perception or logics that soon they will be relieved from the task they are doing. Weather too is also another source for emotions and moods. Most people believe that mood is co-joined with the weather; however, the research carried out states that there is no much effect of weather on mood. Other sources of mood include social activities and interactions, the age that seems to vary from young to old. On age, young people tend to receive less negative emotions than older people do. Gender is also another source of moods and emotions. Through researches carried out, women tend to have more mood effects compared to men ("Moods and Emotions", 2019). Women are more prone to emotions compared to men. Sleep can also be the cause of moods, whereby inadequate sleep causes feelings that are neither clear nor straight forward.

In conclusion, mood and emotions are feelings that tend to affect people's behavior as well as reaction. The distinct difference between them is the cause whereby a specific event causes an emotion while more general incomes cause moods. Similarly, both videos have indicated that time is a factor to consider while identifying mood and emotion. Emotion lasts for a short while. Mood occurs during a prolonged duration.
