Introduction

Maasai Mara is a game reserve located in the Southern parts of Kenya, an African in the Eastern part of the continent. It is one of the primary game reserves in the country, being home to a myriad of wild animals (Jandreau & Berkers, 2016). Additionally, it is one of the largest game reserves that boasts of a large variety of wild animals. One of the unique elements of the game reserve is the wildebeest migration to another neighbouring country. The movement of animals happens twice a year, and this is one of the phenomena that attract a large number of visitors (Lari & Wangombe, 2018).

On visiting Maasai Mara, the thing that caught my eye was the vast, sprawling grassland. The extensive pastures were home to so many animals that seemed to be in peace with nature as they were grazing about in the game reserve. I have never seen such a vast unoccupied land that did not have large human settlements. The serenity in the game reserve is something that I would not mind feeling every time that I get the chance to visit the country. The animals and visitors all feel in synchrony with one another, and this feeling is quite unlike any other.

Maasai Mara is a game reserve that is home to a myriad of wild animals. Some of the wild animals in reserve are; leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, warthogs, gazelles and buffaloes, to name but a few. Although the reserve is in an African country, most of the visitors are either Caucasians or Asians. These visitors who come in hoards are people who love nature and being outdoors and hence; they would often go for game drives to sightsee and hike the numerous trails present. To host the many visitors frequenting the game reserve, a host of hotels and accommodation facilities are available. There is also a designated place where campers with their equipment can set up camp and spend their time there for as long as they would like.

The element that was unique to Maasai Mara is the bond that most wild animals which one would consider to be vicious have with their caregivers. Some lions were comfortable with their caregivers that they would play with them. These lions would come in troops and just sprawl and spar with some game reserve attendants. It was unique because all along, I know Lions to be fierce to the point that they are even loathful of human contact. It was, however, the opposite in Maasai Mara.

Conclusion

The visitors who frequent the cultural site are mainly Caucasians, and this is one element I have in common with them. There was a large number of Caucasians whom I saw on my visit to the game reserve. Most of them would be outdoors seeing the various animals, hiking the trails, enjoying the outdoors and the fresh air which is comparable to none other and enjoying all the things that Maasai Mara had to offer. I felt at home in Maasai Mara because everywhere I looked, I was sure to find a Caucasian doing one of the activities that the game reserve had on offer. Additionally, the visitors were so kind and friendly that they made me feel at home the instant I set foot in the game reserve.
