The local strategy at Unit 827 primarily focuses on strategic human resources management. It can be shown by how much interest Martha Wilson concentrates on improving the employee satisfaction, performance, selection, and pay as a means to improve the efficiency in the company. Martha focuses on motivating Lenny and Harry. She also employs a democratic leadership when she consults her employees on the best way to improve the workforce without affecting their pay raise. The corporate strategy is similarly focused on improving the efficiency of the workforce; however, the strategy focuses on developing the business by ensuring the workforce is enough to provide the activities are conducted efficiently. It can be indicated by the corporate providing just enough money to hire the required cook but not satisfy all her employees.

The alignment strategies are the process that involves the activities that of the corporate at various levels and retails as well as their staff members and business division with the planned objectives of the organization. The strategies aim to provide that both the employees at both the corporate and local level are working towards achieving the stated goals of the company.

When Martha Wilson noticed significant differences between Lenny and Harry, she immediately took a step to resolve the existing problem. Upon a discussion with Harry, Martha found out that the reasons for Harry's negative behavior such being anti-social and laziness at work are due to his family and his urge to go back to school. Therefore, Martha decided to fix his shift so that Harry can concentrate on finishing high school. It can be seen that this was a correct choice since there is reported an increase in efficiency in Harry's job as well as his ultimate promotion to the post of assistant manager.

In the hiring of a new cook, I believe that Martha Wilson makes correct choices in the various issues in the process. The identification of the need for a new cook was a great decision since it will ease the workload on the staff. Also, Martha first contacts the home office on the matter, and due to the increased sale at Unit 827, the corporate allowed her. She also wisely handles the issue of a pay rise that comes with the hiring of a new cook. By considering all the factors, Martha makes a great choice in deciding to hire a new cook to handle the increased business. She eventually hired a cook who is friends with Harry and also does not demand a high salary that would eliminate the pay raises of the employees.

Conclusion

In the issues surrounding the pay raises, Martha Wilson made a correct choice by involving the employers in to help recruit a new cook who would ask a salary that will comprise their pay raise. It was nice gesture that significantly contributed to the employee motivation and satisfaction. It provided a chance for the employees to have an increase in pay.
