Introduction
As the director of the public - sector in a consulting company, I have been given the duty of making sure that veterans are being intergraded fully within society. As it is commonly known, the veterans are seen as people who seem to be extraordinary due to the mystery surrounding their lives. They are people who are perceived to be antisocial due to a lot of exposure to violence (Hannon, 2019). This aspect makes other common people fear them and this lowers the chances of them being accepted back to the society even after retiring. It is a matter of fact that veterans are not included in project developments in their areas of residence. It is also a fact that they are not given any contracting services for government business. There are various aspects of veterans which are highly ignored and in one way or the other, they lead various adverse effects such as broken families, homelessness committing of suicides among others (Casey, 2017). That is why I advocate for the public leaders to have an initiative of integrating veterans within the community.
The identified which can benefit this type of collaboration includes the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and finally and the Department of Homeland security. The rationale here is that Veterans are very flexible and they have knowledge when it comes to handling discipline at the wake of wait - time scandal. The above-mentioned organization are in a way sensitive in nature and they need to hire people with the defined mission (Schulker, 2017). In order for them to achieve the objectives required, it is necessary for them to collaborate with veterans. This means that leaders within these organizations have to be influential enough in order to convince already biased members of public unto why they are in need of veterans' service.
From the above-named organization, it can be seen that they deal with Federal Aviation, Revenues and issue of security. The three docket needs to behave the latest technology for them to deliver accordingly. The issue of federal aviation involves almost all aspects of civil aviation within the nation. Since it is a government body dealing with civilians, the need of having veteran services within this sector is important in order to take control non- veterans. The monitoring of non-veterans aviation issue can be comfortably done by the veterans through the current technology. On the issue of internal revenue services, it is very important for this docket to have representatives from veterans to make sure and through technology, the collaboration of both veterans and non- veterans are being enhanced. On the issue of security which is a sensitive issue, veterans' services are being needed since they are being mandated to in keeping peace within the state. It must also be intergraded by technology and this aspect shows that there is a need for collaboration of both veterans and non- veterans.
The first challenge being encountered is that the kind of collaboration to be implemented depends on the top official leaders of the organization. That is if the leaders have a negative attitude towards veterans, then it will be very difficult for them to be included in their operations. The other challenge concerns about political interference whereby democracy is not being observed since most politicians do not like veterans (White, 2018). This aspect makes it difficult for collaboration to take place. The last challenge is lack of adequate human capital which in a way prevents full integration of veterans in various government business companies.
The challenge of having biased leaders can be solved through regular evaluation on how veterans are being involved in activities of both public and private agencies. About political interference, the step needs to be taken is through clearly defining that veterans involved in activities should be purely kept out from politics. About human capital, strategies such as funds for veterans should be set aside to make sure that it is enough to have those programs involving veterans in businesses.
