Introduction
Since America got its independence, The America Dream has been the driving force and the heart of America. The America Dream is a target for almost every individuals living in the realms of the Americanized world. The America Dream, refer to kind of life that is better, richer, and, fuller for every soul, with equal opportunity for each according to their capability or attainment. That dream has treated a source of inspiration of everyone in America. This dream has transformed into the belief that to be happy, one been prosperous and affluent. That dream has become the aspiration of only child and adult in America, but the dream of many individuals globally. However, today's reality is not the America Dream; a huge percentage of Americans cannot work hard to ensure their dream is realized because they earn less than their expenditure. Moreover, the welfare and healthcare system has an element of unequal and warped which they preserve the social inequalities. In reality, a small number attains The American Dream lavish in poverty due to inequality in income and education has ceased to be a social ladder.
Firstly, income inequality is the main hindrance to the realization of The American Dream. The fact that there is wide income inequality in America, social inequality is no exception. A vast gap between the poor and the rich is frequently connected to low social mobility that contradicts the American ideal of equal opportunity. In recent years, the level of income inequality is higher than they have been in the last centuries because there has been an increase in the income gap since the Industrial Revolution, the United States. Income is one of the determinants of individual living standards; an individual living standard consists of two parts; first one is how much property one owns and the second one is how much one can contribute to their American Dream and both the aspect is affected by income inequality. For instance, most of the homeless Americans are jobless. Moreover, these low-class citizens do not manage to pay for their monthly bills and their children tuition fees, which are the most significant things in their life. Moreover, the middle-class citizen are also affected since everything is expensive, they have to spend a huge percentage of their income to cater for their expenses than what they save. Therefore, with all these inequalities, it is almost impossible to achieve the American Dream.
Secondly, education has ceased to be the cause of vertical social mobility as it was in the prior generations and is swiftly becoming a retardant to those chasing The America Dream. In the 18th and 19th century, educated people were some of the most honored, and, respected people in American society, in those past eras America has seen nothing without education. Since, it was the only means to success in life due to the fact; it encouraged creativity, logic, and freethinking. However, in the present education system, it is filled with much inequalities, which can do not present educated children from a low social class opportunity that will allow them to experience a vertical social movement.
The income inequality has eliminated the majority of the American people from the Dream and concentration on material things has left many unsatisfied with realizing the economic element of the Dream. Therefore, to make dream reality social inequalities in American society need to be reduced.
