Introduction

If you are a keen follower of news in modern times, perhaps you will be pretty discouraged. There are wars, economic collapses, tomfoolery, and political malice, as well as other outright evils. Ernest Hemingway states "the world is a fine place and worth fighting for" (Hemingway, 2012). At such disgusting times, what crosses our mind is such a famous quote. The quote was also used in the film seven by David Fincher (Cinema,2012). The film is an excellent exhibition of a moral dilemma that surrounds the problematic concept of vengeance.

The dilemma comes when an avenging opportunity to your loved one is through death. The confusion of either sparing the loved one by letting the dole of the legal process take the course, or deciding to convey justice as a person. Towards the end of the movie, William Sommerset, the Morgan Freeman character, offers this unforgettable thought, "Earnest Hemingway said, "the world is a fine place and worth fighting for. I agree with the second part" (Cinema,2012). Sommerset grounded this thought and assessment of the world in general, on being a police officer where he was entirely wrapped up in the center of a disintegrating city. Sommerset had also been able to track a serial killer closely. Through his experience, he was only able to agree with the second section of Hemingway's statement, which states that it is "worth finding for"(Cinema,2012).

The central irony in the truth of the quote is that Ernest Hemingway, who viewed the world as the right place which is worth to fight for, also, who hated to leave the place, actually left the world he liked by his own hands. The reason is that he committed suicide in 1961(Hemingway, 2012). Perhaps this act can prompt to offer a different interpretation of Hemingway's statement. The different meaning is based on what is considered to improve this world. The truth is that numerous people are doing the exact thing of battling to make the world better. Yet, despite their innumerable efforts, the world is still in agony and despair.

Being believers of eternity, we have an awareness that the world is not our home. However, we are stewards of everything that exists in it. We have to work hard to maintain the serenity of the world. Perhaps we are also in the predicted last days, although nobody knows what may happen. The rather part looking uncertain is the first section of the quote that says that the world is the right place. One cannot see any better as the despair, pain, and revenge is the order of every day. The aftermath of destruction comes and goes, and tears fade for a moment. The new tragedy comes before the old one is solved, and time becomes the significance remedy. The whole meaning of the phrase 'the world is a good place" could, therefore, mean that disregarding the evils, there are still a few good reasons for not giving up on hope. It is more of a possibility than realism.

The world is described as a good place to live in and an excellent place to fight for. It is a form of inspiration to many who could be in any despair or tragedy. People-based on this truth are supposed to ensure that they work hard and be good agents for whatever is right and pursue our purposes whatever the means. The world is described as good mean that amidst all evils, goodness might be exhibited if fought for. There is struggles in life but the ends always justify the means, whoever labors for good, finds it because it exists. The reward of the toils, fights and pain is harnessed in the very nature we lives in.
