The universe on itself has proven to be good on its own, and for evil to exist in it, it means that there should be free creatures in the universe (Draper, 2019). If by chance the evil gets to occupy the whole universe, it means that there should be free creatures as the evil can't exist by itself, the Catholics hold that the evil always occupies a space between the good which is created by the free creature. For the evil to exist and to spread in the universe, it means that the men and women sit and do nothing thus creating a space for evil. Evil existence in the universe will mean that there will be no love and co-existence as the evil brings division.

According to CIT, evil is a result of an action, there has been a misconception of natural disasters like typhoon and tsunami being taken to be evil, but that is not the case (Draper, 2019). It becomes evil the human being has a hand in the results of the tsunami. For instance, if rich people force financially humble people to live around the ocean and the tsunami takes place, then tsunami will become evil as a result of what human did.

According to Draper, the evil manifests itself in the results of an action, for example, emotions by itself can be good or bad, but the results of it are the ones who will make it good or evil. Furthermore, hate by itself can't be termed as evil unless we observe its results, if we hate what is causing division or corruption, then that hate is justifiable, and it can't be evil (Draper, 2019).

The existing evil in the universe is associated with the devil. The devil was created as an angel; his fall came as a result of his need to be at the same level as God (Draper, 2019). God had his order of creation, he could not allow the devil to acquire his desires, and it necessitated its throw out of heaven. The devil has been propagating the evil among human by creating division which is necessary for evil presence. According to St. Thomas, the devil is capable of accessing our imagination, senses, and memory but it cannot access our decision and will. This implicates that the decision of human beings is out of our own decision and nothing can manipulate us.

Conclusion

In conclusion, evil is a negative act which impacts the life of an individual negatively. For evil to exist, there has to be a free creature in the universe to house the evil since the evil can't exist by itself, but the good can exist on its own. Devil is the root cause of the evil as it is the one advocating for the division which will create space for evil.
