Introduction
Marriage, also known as wedlock or matrimony, is a ritually or socially recognized union between a man and a woman that establishes obligations and between the spouses which result to adopted or biological children as well as affinity.
Communication: Every marriage requires good communication between the couple. The flow of communication should be adverse and often. Proper communication always each couple to air their grievances, ideas, possible solutions to specific issues as well as create a good rapport within the union. However, according to Colman (2018), participation in communication should be simultaneous; that is, it should come from both sides (Colman, 2018). Every couple must embrace a real and comprehensive steady flow of communication while addressing the issues.
Love and Commitment: Similarly, healthy marriages require passion and commitment. At the core of marriage, love is one of the fundamental decision that should be embraced with a commitment towards another person. This expression is more than a fleeting emotion which is commonly portrayed on the big screens, televisions and romance novels. Feelings are not permanent, and they are prone to changes depending on the mood of the person (Williamson et al., 2016). However, true love is a decision which usually lasts forever. The choice is being committed through several challenges, the bad and the good. When everything is fine and moving on smoothly, investing is easy. But a healthy marriage requires true love which is displayed through remaining committed to one another in all trials of life.
Sexual Faithfulness: According to Markman & Ritchie (2015), a healthy marriage does not require our bodies (Markman & Ritchie, 2015). It includes our mind, heart, eyes, and soul. The devotion of our minds to sexual fantasies towards each other in marriage, helps us remain sexually faithful to our spouses. Similarly, a healthy marriage requires that the couples display moments of great emotional intimacies with one another, for them to sacrifice their sexual faithfulness to the spouses. It is necessary for married couples to guard their sexuality daily and to devote their entire lives to each other. However, failure to put everything in front of the couple's body, heart or eye may comprise one's faithfulness.
Conclusion
In conclusion, marriage as a union is based on restrictions and commitments that determine the role of each spouse throughout the engagement period. Although under some circumstances couples may divorce if the marriage is healthy and has the entire essential concepts such as good communication, love and sexual faithfulness it usually becomes more successful.
