Introduction

Every human being, irrespective of their race, age, nationality, religion or cultural inclination is subject to a set of rights that protect them from exploitation and harm, and a corresponding stipulate of liberties to enable them to enjoy their experiences as citizens away from the strict laws and regulations. Many individuals get familiarized with the phrase, "you have the right to remain silent..." but a few know what these rights and liberties mean to them, and it makes them vulnerable to violations, yet they won't even know it happened. The fundamental rights of an average American citizen include a right to vote, a fair trial in court, privacy, freedom from unequal treatment, among others. The liberties include freedom of speech, religion, marriage, protection from random home searches, and the list is unending. Any action against these rights and liberties result in a violation and may cause harm to the individual either physically, mentally or psychologically. The current judicial system, justice and correctional facilities, government agencies, non-governmental agencies among many other facilities and organization have breached these protections that citizens enjoy and put their well-being in jeopardy.

Voting is a vital and fundamental civil right to any American citizen who by law qualifies to cast a vote and have a say on the form of leadership they would prefer to be under. It is the one activity that the contribution of every citizen literary counts, and the only way the dreams of an individual can become true through their desired leaders. In 2013, the highest court on land, the Supreme Court altered an essential section of the voting rights thereby allowing states that previously had created administrative bottlenecks for a particular group of individuals from voting to create new voting rules that could no doubt rule some citizens out of the voting process (Dahlia & Mark, 2014). A few hours after the ruling, certain states rushed to develop and impose regulations that would disproportionately disadvantage the poor, the young, the elderly and the minority groups. Even though some of these new rules and restrictions were batted back, the retaining of some of them affected the subsequent year of voting. This form of voter suppression I the name of upholding vote integrity is an uncouth form of stepping on the citizens' throats to prevent them from speaking out loud.

Citizens include the liberally free and the prisoners alike. Even though they have committed violations to get to where they are, with other falsely accused, they are entitled to rights and liberties from victimization, and right to fair trials. Death penalties are often conducted via chemical exoneration that should be quick and painless. However, a particular recipe of chemicals has been used in history that has caused pain and agony to the prosecuted. In January 2014, the execution of Michael Lee Wilson in the state of Oklahoma using a cocktail of chemicals left his entire body "on fire" a few seconds after the injection (Dahlia & Mark, 2014). Three months later, the same state executed Clayton Lockett in a brutal session that left him "writhing and bucking." Unfair trials have become rampant with the three hundred and twenty-fifth case of an individual who had served 31 years for a rape case implicated by DNA results, cleared. These biases towards the delinquents and prisoners leave them brutally impaired in all aspects of their personality.

Religious freedom is yet another area of focus, an area that has resulted in massacres and civil or somewhat religious wars in regions that don't have well-stipulated laws. The United States of America is the one region an individual ought to feel free in their religious belief, but the recent happenings have proved otherwise. The Supreme Court in Galloway ruled out the commencing of legislative sessions in the towns council meetings with explicitly sectarian prayers(Dahlia & Mark, 2014). Following this ruling, the town councils could invite Christian leaders to speak in the conference while secluding the minority religious groups. A decision of this intensity and division potential from the Supreme Court pointed out the problem directly into the justice systems, and this could be tough to counter.

Conclusion

The shield that citizens could comfortably hide behind and feel safe are now being poked and pierced and stubbed, leaving them vulnerably exposed to the brutality and cruelty of those holding the arms of justice. It is unsafe for every individual who has put their utmost faith to the government for protection, and to the prisoners who have trusted the justice system to help them rehabilitate and transform into the better persons, they can be, as they await their reunion back to the society. The most development of the separation of infants and toddlers from their parents and guardian at the Mexican border is breeding a hell of violations that will live for decades and centuries to come.
