The Significance of the Police Interview

During the project, I interviewed a police officer that provided information that effectively influenced the decision making about the project. The officer provided information on their experiences in their roles in preventing crimes in the society. The police officer reported that in the past, they faced the challenges of controlling crime since they had no power to prosecute criminals. This information gave more significant insights into the project since it would enhance my knowledge of how the crime control program would solve these challenges.

Impacts on the Feelings about Police Mission

The project changed my feelings about the mission of the police officers. The mission aims at enforcing the law, preventing crime, crime investigation, and apprehension of lawbreakers, offer enforcement to the community and enhance tranquility and peace in the society (Crowl 449). Before the project, I felt that peace enhancement of the society was the most significant part of the police mission. However, the project changed this perception by providing the importance of preventing crime in the society. I discovered that crime prevention enhances all the other parts of the mission hence easing the work of the police.

Impacts of Community Policing

Community policing tool is an essential tool in society today. In this era, criminal operations have evolved according to the structure of the community. Therefore, having a police officer in the community helps to maintain law and order according to the needs of a particular society. Domestic security and community policing can co-exist in society since the local guards provide the officers with the requirements of society (Crowl 450). As a result, the police effectively enforce the law in the community.

Community and Police Needs

The needs of the community in crime control are the safety requirements of the residents to conduct their operations in society. The needs of the police are the conditions that the officers require to practice their mission effectively (Crowl 450). The project reflects on the needs of the two groups by focusing on the strategies and conditions that enable the people to carry out their operations. Additionally, the project describes the importance of crime prevention in a society that focuses on the needs of the residents.

Demographics of the Fictional City

The project design uses a fictional city whose demographics comprises of high-income earners. The population in the city experiences safety issues, thus prompting the employment of domestic security. To understand the needs of this community, I searched for the security problems that occur in societies that comprise of high-income households.

Overall Reflection

Designing a crime control is an exciting project that offers the researchers an opportunity to unlearn their past wrong perceptions about policing and acquire new information on the police mission. If I were to do the study again, I would engage more police officers in an interview to gain a diverse perspective of their operations and experiences. As a result, the methodology of conducting the project would be altered to include the response of other police officers. I would recommend the future classes to include the failures of the crime control program in the elements of their studies. The aspect will trigger further research on the methods of improving the programs to be effective in the current era.
