The secret behind the Neighbour 2 Neighbour program is to connect vulnerable people with their neighbors who are capable of helping them through an organized program. The program captures the Gift of Time and Gift of the officials.

Strathfield households and residents are urged to register and prepare a gift of non-perishable goods package and other vital personal hygiene items for the intended group during the coronavirus pandemic. From the Gift of Time perspective, volunteers are encouraged to conduct a regular well-being checkup on the target population and supply and coordinate items.

Currently, there are 40 volunteers with a range of 50 to 60 people registered vulnerable members. The program is working counter the COVID-19 pandemic. The program offers a realistic choice to many vulnerable people who cannot easily get out to buy essential items from the grocery by themselves based on the lockdown.

Fina, Nainoca, Strathfield council claimed in the interview that about 40 volunteers are willing to contact with the elders and go shopping with them. When asked how the residents get to know the program, Nainoca said, "The website or walk passing around the council. Some people were calling the council. Receive the phone call from the vulnerable."

Karen Pensane, who work in the Strathfield council, claimed that she knows those isolated without family and friend. Pensane posited that those with a disability and elderly are highly are affected since they cannot get out and use online order.

When asked how long the grocery issues have lasted, she exclaimed: "The longer it last as the covid-19 still happening." The vulnerable can hardly access the internet; they cannot get out and are completely unaware of what is happening in the grocery.

Currently, the program has employees and volunteers who work in tandem to follow the vulnerable individual's situation and needs. The idea will be fruitful in ensuring that there is successful well-being at all times. People who are compassionate to donate will walk to the council every Monday and Friday.

The public has shown their interest to know if the program can last beyond the COVID-19 pandemic. In the interview with the manager in Strathfield, Fina Nainoca, who argued that "Estimated when covid-19 completed end and change something after. Because this program is developed due to the virus and doesn't want people to think, they use this program for other benefits."

In most instances, the volunteers usually represent the council. The council send those emails and convene meeting with volunteers to offer great advice and description of the program. After a few weeks, the council usually arrange a meeting with the vulnerable who never heard their voice.

Conclusion

The program works in such a way that once a volunteer register, they are requested to send their contact details via [email protected]. St Paul's Parish highlighted essential items such as health, clean, and food. The essentials items will be very useful in combating and protecting vulnerable citizens against COVID-19 pandemic. Health items will entail sanitary pad, moisturizer, hand sanitizer, and disposal razor.
