President Obama had been nominated by most of the people from the United States as the flag bearer democrat party in the race for the running for the United States presidency. The speech in this analysis is that of his acceptance into the position of the presidency as he gives gratitude to the American citizens who chose him during the nominations. In his speech, Obama discussed his dream and wished for the American as he tried to capture the attention. Barack Obama, by then-senator Obama, delivers his address to the nation united states of America in Denver in Colorado by giving his gratitude and thanks to those who stood by him. During the nominations and are willing to stand by him up to the end of the race, he plans to educate children, healthcare for veterans, transform our economy, save the farms, and rebuild the forgotten cities.
In his speech, he sees the United States be in a "turmoil"; therefore, it is in great danger for the American promise as he expresses his worry that "more Americans are out of work and more are working harder for less" (Obama, 2008). in his words, he illustrates how the Americans are suffering as most of the people have lost jobs, and many of them are doing lots of work, but they end paid little amount that does not even cater for the expenses. Obama further clarifies that "(Obama, 2008). We are better than these last eight years," as he gives hope to the crowd at his speech that he can do better in trying to solve the previous challenges that have been experienced by the previous government. and that there is a need for transformation for what bush failed to do as he says that "we love this country too much to let the next four years look like the last eight." He further convinces the people that he would not take any chance that will ruin his dream on the American people but would fully devote himself towards bringing change to America.
In his words, "we measure the strength of our economy by whether someone with a good idea can take a risk and start a new business" (Obama, 2008). That he was ready to accept more entrepreneurs and people in business to the country with ideas of investment so that they can improve their economy, which is falling. He expressed how people faced a lot of problems in putting small businesses due to the unwavering economy, as they are busy working hard to make ends meet in their daily activities as they are facing difficulties in meeting their expenses. Obama further challenged the crowd of the need to understand the American promise by following it consistently through being kind to their neighbors, "each of us has the freedom to make our lives what we will and treat each other with dignity and respect."
President Obama, by then a senator, argued that there is a need for the government of the United States of America to work for its citizens and not against its citizens, "the government needs to work on the sides of the citizens" (Obama, 2008). That the government needs to provide job opportunities to its citizens and that it requires to accomplish the issues that seem to be impossible to its people like offering protection from their enemies both from within and outside. He further argued that it was the responsibility of the government to provide every opportunity for all the Americans not only for the rich but also for the hardworking Americans who are devoted to working for their country to better their country's economy. "America now is not the time for small plans" (Holloway, 2009). In his speech, he promised his supporters that it was the time that they would be expecting significant transformations to the American government. That there were to be transformations in ensuring there will be changes in the health sector through the providence of reasonable and reachable health services for all Americans.
Obama, in his speech as a presidential nominee for the democrat party, delivers his thanksgiving speech for his supporters at Denver and to all the united states people. Those who stood by him and to those who were undecided his he highlighted his plans and the big dream that he had for the American people from educating children, provision of healthcare, saving agricultural farms, rebuilding the American economy, and reconstruction of the fallen cities (Holloway, 2009). Obama further narrowed down on the way he was going to solve the American economic crisis that was present during bush's government to flourish to the greater heights so that the Americans could realize their American dream. Throughout his speech senator, Obama, by then, convinced people that he needed their support since the American plan was great to all the Americans and not to him and his wife, Mitchell Obama. But the American dream was to all the American people that the right person for the transformations that Americans needed was Barack Obama and not McCain, who had no vision for the Americans.
