The Democrats and the Republicans are the two major political parties that characterize the United States. In the United States, there is freedom for the creation of new parties. However, the new and existing minority parties lack the support a party needs to develop; hence these parties tend to focus on specific issues as they seek following. Regardless of the popularity of the political party, each has to create a party platform. the candidates get a clear political position for the campaign, and the voters get to understand the priorities of the candidates based on issues affecting the voters. The party platform is a set of principles, objectives, and strategies to tackle the political problems of urgency (Fagerholm 506). Although all political parties have different priorities, climate change and student debt are common among them. However, the Green Party of the United States has more informative solutions compared to the other two parties.

The Democrats believe that to achieve climate goals, there is a need to transition to a clean energy economy, and this is only achievable by the pricing of greenhouse gases. In addition to this, they look to protect the natural and cultural resources by expanding recreational opportunities and rehabilitating the existing national parks (democrats.org). Republicans, on the other hand, share the same sentiments as the Democrats as they too believe that public land should be given to the people to carry out recreational facilities. The Republicans believe that it is poverty that leads to environmental degradation hence looking to empower technological advances. Improved technology will elevate economic growth; therefore, environmental progress (gop.com).

The Greens have better solutions for climate change in that, for every issue affecting Americans they have a solution. They not only focus on climatic change in The United States but worldwide. The Greens call for an International climate treaty whereby, they look to eradicate greenhouse emissions. They can achieve this by calling for wealthy nations to assist poorer ones financially as they fight the effects of climate change. The Greens also call for an economic policy that favors climatic conditions such as, enacting a dividends system that includes environmental fees on extraction and use of fossil fuels. Repaying of climate debt, according to the Greens is mandatory since the banning of fossil fuels deters the growth of some countries. Efficiency and conservation of energy are the key aspects of the Greens' platform. As such, they call for efficiency in the transportation system, national zero waste policy and transition to renewable energy. They believe that less consumption and disposal lead to less production hence better chances at environmental conservation (gp.org).

Currently, student debt is a burden to most people as they graduate and do not get employed. Therefore, there is a need to upgrade the education system. Concerning student's debt, the Republican believes that the federal government should not disburse the loans. They hold the view that allowing the private sector to participate in the facilitation of students' finances would help in bringing down higher education costs. However, the Democrats view to aid the debts is by refinancing of students with loans but at lower interest rates. Also, the Democrats believe that the introduction of a bill of rights that provides adequate information on loans will avoid defaults. The bill will also help rehabilitate those in default as it is the best way to deal with the burden of debt (democrats.org). The Greens, on the other hand, call for the availability of students' loans to all college students and in addition to this, pardon graduates that choose public service jobs.

Conclusion

In conclusion, despite all political parties holding different ideologies, they have common issues affecting Americans. As such, all the parties try to find the best solutions to solve the problems faced. The parties all have different means of handling climatic change and students' debt. The Greens, however, have more useful tactics compared to both the Democrats and the Republicans.
