For more than the past fifty years, technology has known its place in society. The recent years have been characterized by rapid technological advancement allowing many people to spend a lot of time with technology. Technology today has become part of life for many people, and the striking thing is not only its ubiquity but its intimacy as well. The adoption and use of technology depicted in the Modern Times, a comedy film performed by Charles Chaplin. Chaplin spends a better part of his life working at the factory where he faces ordeals regarding the use of modern technology. The case of Chaplin's challenge to work with technology is unique, considering the many years the film was directed. Today, individuals find technology quite fascinating because of the related benefits, such as increased production and speed. The current research paper discusses the modern fascination of technology about computer architecture, web design, and the concept of machine language as an area of attraction.
The use of computer architecture is an area in modern society that has enhanced the fascination of technology. Today, architecture has advanced to an exceptional level, thanks to the increased attraction of individuals towards the use of technology. Unlike what used to happen before, the design of the modern house is relative to the attitudes and aesthetics of engineers and homeowners towards architectural technology. The use of technology has been supported by the experience that engineers who performs architectural function subjecting the market to drastic reversals and correlations. Besides, they are the key factors that pose one of the significant threats to innovation in as far as modern architectural designs are concerned. Technology has been on the forefront, getting blend seamlessly into the background, and, by so doing, getting pushed to the fore (Colomina, 2009). Thus, it is factual that because of the modern fascination of technology, architecture is moving towards a digital glamour era in what is commonly known as computer architecture. However, the latter would only be attained if the gap between unbuildable yet seductive rendered image is finally equaled, and this involves the great use of modern technology. In extreme circumstances, the rendered image may be surpassed by advanced works that opt to apply the use of computerized systems in all stages of involved processes with the sole intention of creating new environments that are utterly genuine (Konarzewska, 2017). A case in point is the Crystal Palace by Joseph Paxton and Owen Jones. The Crystal Palace is an architectural design that vividly depicts the modern fascination that exists in as far as technology is concerned. The building, which was originally built in Hyde Park, London, consists of not only a plate-glass structure but also one that is cast-iron. The application of iron and glass was majorly seen in churches, but now it was in a different building. In as much as the advances made in construction technology serve to establish a facilitative balance for all types of architecture, they also pave the way for modern technology to take charge of architecture (Conrads & Bullock, 1976). The reason is majorly attributed to the dire fact that architectural designs have been positively affected by massive developments in the world in terms of technology. Notably, the latest techniques that are available that are now available are getting applied by both engineers and architects is the implementation and design of architectural products (Wright, 1901). A vast majority of the architectural products that have been affected by the change, as mentioned earlier, are the high-rise buildings. Those, as mentioned earlier, may mainly be attributed to the fact that high-rise buildings rely on the technology about information, structure, and style divisions.
Today, web design has increased following the attraction of the new use of technology to enhance the way businesses operate. Companies have focused on web design to facilitate the process of production and increase the speed with which systems function in the organization. The application of web design is reflected in the Modern Times film where Chaplin performs the mechanical job of tightening bolts on a moving belt. He felt as though he was going insane as the monotony of the job he was doing was too much for him to handle. Chaplin finds working with the machine difficult due to a lack of communication and web technologies that support markup languages and multimedia packages (Powell, 2002). The need to improve the interface and the functionality of the company is what has fascinated individuals towards modern technology use. Having a great website in place for a successful technology company requires taking into account multiple factors such as the product, the industry, and the ability of the employees. This is important to avoid the situation, such as the one that is experienced by Chaplin in his company. Building a web design involves the right resources and the call-to-action for the people who will be the users of the site. The desire to back up essential data of the company is behind the modern individual fascination of the technology (Powell, 2002). Research reveals that if the content or the layout of the website is not attractive, users or the customers of the company may stop using the site. In extreme cases, this is likely to lead to mistrust and the rejection of the website by the users. An excellent example is the site design trends of 2018 that involved the design of mobile gadgets to allow users to use mobile devices to view various sites and coordinate functions (Powell, 2002). Many companies have resorted to web design to enhance the working conditions of their employees since the success of the site depends on the quality of the plan. This involves following the trend such that they can understand which tools have become fashionable when it comes to the field of the building site. Modern entrepreneurs focus on designing and building webs that would boost the businesses and easy the operation with the users, including the employees and customers. The whole essence of web design as an awakening new form of technology is to improve the way of doing things in business, and this involves working with all the stakeholders. This minimizes the chances of any difficulties that employees would encounter, like in the case of Chaplin in Modern Times film, where Charles is shown holding two spanners for tightening bolts and appeared confused as if he was handpicked from the modern world and transitioned there. The scene is an indication of the level of confusion infrastructural and architectural underdevelopment causes employees.
Another area that has attracted the focus of individuals in the use of technology is machine language. The machine language is critical in enhancing the ability of the computer to perform multiple functions in an organization with easiness and little resistance. This involves the use of code and combining the various digits into machine language before running the code on the computer (Perry, Allen, & Berry, 1955). The use of machine language allows the quick identification and recognition of binary where image, video, and character of text are all composed into the CPU. Under this technology, a new computer system can be built to do multiple tasks by designing a low-level machine language with instructions to instruct the computer on what to do. In a situation where the language is not well understood, interacting with the computer to the required tasks may be a challenge. This is essential in art and craft, where machines have been designed with the appropriate language to facilitate architectural works such as the building of a modern house (Perry, Allen, & Berry, 1955). This case can be applied to Charles Chaplin as he interacts with the technology in his firm where he worked. He encountered the ordeals and found the challenges to increase production and speed because of different machine languages. He was situated at the grinding wheels of the industry; he was employed and given the mechanical job of tightening bolts on a moving belt. Modern fascination with technology has left experts in various organizations to focus on working with the machine language to create the familiarity that can enhance the functioning of the company. An example of machine language technology that has fascinated individuals in the computer industry is the writing of a java program emulating the yet-to-be-built computer. The process uses the built computer to follow executing programs written in the new machine language. This makes it easy to understand how the new technology works to aid other users who want to use it.
Another example that has seen the attraction of this modern technology has a PowerPC processor that has the architecture of a RISC requiring that different code to allow the correct running of the program (Perry, Allen, & Berry, 1955). With the measures to improve the machine language, companies and individuals want to reduce the difficulties the users face when using the technology, as seen in the case of Chaplin in the Modern Times film. The improvement and changes that machine language technology causes in the art and craft are what has attracted this technology.
Therefore, technology has changed in recent years and has seen an improvement in various sectors. The use of technology, especially in modern days, fascinates many individuals in sectors that require technological use and frequent improvement. The adoption and use of technology depict in the Modern Times, a comedy film performed by Charles Chaplin. Concurrently, the modern machines in the factory where Charles work fascinates him to the point that he forgets the duties obligated to him. Even though modern technology serves to make life easier for employees in either complicated or straightforward lines of work such as the one the cast was, the fascination of the employees towards them may cripple work and serve as a deterrence to progress in place of work. Therefore, it is quite essential to draw a line between the type and design of modern technology to introduce to a firm or project. For this study, computer architecture, web design, and machine language are areas that have changed the way of working in companies and enhanced the experience of users.
