Sex has positive effects on different aspects of our lives such as work, happiness, marriage, physical and cognitive performance as well as preventing some diseases among many others (Ivanski & Kohut, 2017). This work will seek to extend our knowledge on the health benefits of sex and its fundamental role human lives.
Sexually active people tend to have a stronger immune system. In a study performed by Ward (2008), indicates that individuals who are in romantic relationships and have regular sex had more immunoglobulin A (IgA) in their saliva, as opposed to individuals who have infrequent sex. IgA is an antibody that plays a critical role in preventing diseases; thus, sexually active individuals take fewer sick days (Whipple, 2008). Sex enhances the immune system of the body that protects the body against, viruses, germs, and other elements that affect the health of the body by boosting the ability of the body to produce protective antibodies. Therefore, a healthy sex life can be used as one of the ways of cultivating strong defenses against contagious diseases.
Subsequently, good sex plays a crucial role in lowering high blood pressure. There is a connection between having intimate and decreasing systolic blood pressure. This implies that sex can be of benefit to people who need natural adjunct to lifestyle to get their blood pressure balanced or in a healthy range. In that, sex sessions will boost the mental health by improving a person's moods, and fighting anxiety and depression, which are believed to be some of the elements that cause high blood pressure. The stress reduction aspect plays a significant role in reducing an individual's high blood pressures by lowering the cortisol level.
Having healthy sex sessions can also play an essential function in improving the health of the heart. Heart disease is one of the leading cause of many deaths, especially on women. Apart from eating a balanced diet, and controlling the sodium and cholesterol levels, having sex can also be used as an essential way of improving heart health. Sex is an exercise that controls the heart rate along with the flow of blood hence minimizing or eradicating the risk of fatal heart attack (Ward, 2008). Additionally, sexual activity ensures that the levels of hormones such as testosterone and estrogen, are kept on check. This improves the wellbeing of a person since when these hormones are found out to be out of balance, there will be an emergence of health conditions such as osteoporosis and heart disease. Therefore, fostering intimacy and closeness can aid in balancing the hormones reduce the chances of suffering from heart disease and enhance the overall health of a person.

Sex satisfaction comes with multiple health benefits as outlined in this work as well as increasing happiness and living a healthy life.
