After the 2016 United States Presidential Election, online privacy protection became a prime concern for customers all over the world. Allegedly, various malicious parties were able to compromise the privacy of numerous online users; therefore, having access to their personal information that was eventually used to influence the outcome of the election (Pandey and Misra, 2016). Other concerns on customer protection include the hacking of online user accounts. These hackers utilize a user's account without authorization to perform malicious acts or crimes (Abomhara, 2015).

Privacy protection laws are vital, especially now that the internet is continuously expanding. These laws require internet companies to take strict measures to ensure that information and data of users on their websites is protected from third-party access. These laws further safeguard the privacy of children and other underaged users on their platform by limiting the amount of information such users are expected to divulge on their websites (Abomhara, 2015). As the platform continues to expand in terms of speed and infrastructure, legislators are keen on ensuring that customers privacy is protected as well as other issues, the use of the internet can raise.

Rights and Duties

For a company to operate effectively and most importantly gain profit, there are many duties and rights that both the employer and the employees are entitled to. These rights and responsibilities ensure that work is done in the right manner and in a way that benefits the entire firm. Failure to observe some of these rights and duties can result in numerous legal implications; however, they do not necessarily have to be legal issues but can be similar catastrophic effects. Perhaps one of the most important rights that an employee is entitled to be the right to a safe and healthy workspace.

Without a doubt, employees are the most integral part of a company. Companies can have very effective business strategies; however, the success of these strategies depends entirely on the workforce. As a result, these employees have a right to work in a safe and healthy workplace (Lawrence and Weber, 2014). This means that the employees should be offered the necessary tools required to ensure they work in a safe environment that does not endanger their life or well-being. It can include being provided with protective wear when dealing with hazardous materials that can threaten their health.

Finally, employers have the duty of ensuring they offer an equal employment opportunity in their business. Creating equal employment opportunity ensures that there is no discrimination of employees based on race, gender, and other aspects. This duty is also useful for employers as they place themselves in a position to hire the most qualified persons as well as enhancing the image of the institution. Conclusively, by upholding these rights and duties, a company can overcome numerous legal and social challenges; therefore, placing themselves in a position for the best possible outcome.
