Introduction
A band guitarist uses a musical instrument called a guitar to produce music by manipulating its strings to go with the rhythm of the song or music. They must be well versed with their equipment closely because they are in charge of set ups. They must possess some technical skills due to unexpected emergencies that occur on stage before performances. Guitarist are also vocalist in most bands. Like the other band members, they are responsible for taking care of the equipment offered to them on set in any event they play at.
I started playing the guitar at twelve years of age. My dad was a choir leader back then and knew a lot about music. He bought for me my first guitar and taught me how to play. I eventually joined the choir at my church and played there as well. Playing at many of the church events made me a better player as I became more confident and skilled with different tunes. I also joined the music club back in high school where I got to learn a lot about music as a whole. I won an award for an interschool solo piece music competition, which I participated in, back in high school. My biggest inspiration has a however been my father. The kind of lessons he gave me, made me a very confident guitarist.

Roles
I had an impromptu exam paper one Friday afternoon. It was only announced to us on that same Friday morning. I also had a planned band performance the same afternoon on the same date. School work is of utmost priority to me, and would never have wanted to miss anything relating to academic responsibilities. Being a student is my master status at the moment and that is why nothing overrides it. I had however practiced with the band and was so ready to perform on that day. I had my part to play, how was I going to mess it all up for them? This was a local upcoming band that had gained fame in a very short time since the locals loved our compositions. When I called the band leader to break the news, she got very furious with me not willing to listen to reason.
I decided that I would go do the exam paper and find a replacement for the first few songs that were to be played. Then join them later after my paper. The only person I knew that was able to master a rhythm and a melody fast was my father. I called him, and luckily he made himself available. The band leader eventually agreed to my plan, and prepared my dad for the performance. Everything worked out as planned on that particular day, and to my surprise, some of the band members thought it would be a good idea to hire my dad as a fill in incase I am unavailable.
I reflected on the situation at hand and therefore used the reflection skill to analyze the situation at hand. I understood why the band leader was angry despite the fact that I explained my dilemma. Validating her reaction made it easier for me to look for a fast solution to the problem at hand. The use validation as an active listening skill enables one to acknowledge the opinions and reactions of the other person even when you entirely don't agree with them.
