To be honest, my dear niece, sometimes I may not feel successful, and there are days when I forget and allow my do-list to order my priorities. There are also times when I find myself failing to accept that I cannot have it all. I know from my experience that there are times when you also feel you have entirely failed and have lost the path to your success. The reasons are because our minds can create fear and self-doubt, and it only takes a strong woman like you to focus on the positives that are present. Therefore, remember that to be successful in life, one needs to know who they indeed are and their priorities. The most effective way to know who you are and what you want is to understand your personalities, wishes, and aspirations.

Be curious and do not let the world pass you by while staying focused only on your failure to achieving your career. Let me tell you a story of how I found myself at your age. After the second last test during my undergraduate program, I presented my results to my grandmother, and they were way so may Fs in my report card. I remember my grandmother looking at my report card and saying to me you are going to be unique, you are going far and your curiosity will lead you to greater heights. I looked again at my results, then at her, and cried a lot because I thought she was very disappointed in me as I was in myself that the words were only to make me not feel bad. After college, my grandmother told me to apply what I learned in school in a more significant way. One day I decided I want to meet the best and well known successful professor of abnormal psychology and have a chat with him to hear how he made it far in life. After his class, I asked him for ten minutes of coffee, which he agreed. We had the coffee and expanded the ten minutes to an hour of real-life conversation that changed my view of life. I came out of there, determined, and after every two weeks, I made sure I met a person considered successful in life for a cup of coffee. You see, these meetings were not to discuss my Fs in school but to feed my mind by exploring other people’s minds. And that is how I ended up becoming a professor, starting a good company and living a life I consider happy. Looking back now, I wish I had applied my curiosity earlier while still in school I would have a much smoother part in achieving happiness and contentment.

My point is that you must understand that things may not go exactly as you planned and must use setbacks as opportunities for achieving success. Do not compare yourself to others and look at how far you are coming from-this is the real meaning of success in life. You don’t know what other people have done to get to where they are, so forget about comparing yourself but celebrate each step towards your goal. S I hope you will change your view on achieving success and focus more on yourself first.
