A movie is a combination of both video and audio to express one’s attitudes, thoughts, knowledge, and perception of ideas by the directors. Films provide an explicit way for entertainment, education, and relief influence to the viewers. Research shows that movie devotees have different reasons for sticking to different types of movies (Abraham et al., 2012). The two films, 21 bridges and triple nine, are based on cops and criminal activities in various settings. The two movies bring out the roles played by the police officers in ensuring order and law while entertaining the viewers. The scenes display current settings of the society with arising matters of corruption and corps involvement in a crime. Finally, films seek to educate viewers on the role to play in ensuring success in the implementation of policies and all adhere to ensuring the law.
In 21 Bridges, investigator Davis is the responsible officer who seeks to unravel the involvement of his colleagues in crimes in Manhattan. The officer risks his life in responding to the murders staged by people with similar expertise as him. This is a positive attribute that the producers seek to advocate for in society (Brian, 2019). The Triple nine-film champions for the chief as best officer who targets the Russian mob and in the event discovers his corrupt officials that resulted in the exposure and fall of the crew that consisted of the corrupt cops. The officer, Chris, also targeted but survived due to his prior suspicions, made the investigation simpler as he passed information to the chief.
The police play a critical role in ensuring order and control in every society. The movies advocate for responsible cops that understand the law and execute it as trusted by the state and nation. The developments of the films illustrate the gross transgression of the forces in implementing the policies put in place. Corruption and greed are the primary causes of failure in those responsible for ensuring order being the cause of chaos in society. The movies are primarily based on corrupt officials who support crime. This aspect taints the perception of the viewers towards the law and the police. The concept of mistrust also arises and could cloud the thought of the public as from whom to seek help.
The movies seek to deal with the rogue cops, and in the process, those seeking truth end up lost in the cycle of crime without anyone to trust. In 21 Bridges, detective Davis, on the discovery that his partners were part of murders in Manhattan, set out to reveal the transgression. In the event, things become complicated, and as the hunt grew extreme, all the bridges to the city locked to prevent escape. In Triple 9, a bunch of corrupt officers hatches a robbery plan of a bank in Atlanta with the mob from Russia, which prompted the murder of an officer. The officer suspicious, supported the swoop. His detective uncle, however, followed up and nailed the corrupt officers who later faced betrayal, retaliation, and voracity (John, 2016).
The movies present the aspect of rogue officers who work in collaboration with the criminals. These officers prevent the competent officers from succeeding in pursuit of the felons. Such deprive social peace and security, which further weakens the judicial systems. The films also express exploitation at its best, where corruption and bribery provide a simplified way for justice. The greed of officers for power and resources is influenced by crime and thus easily swayed into sin. The role of responsible officers is also highlighted in the films to ensure truth and order.
However, the films focused on the several occasions that crime succeeded with the coordination from the corrupt officials. This instils negative attitude to the supporters of the movie towards police and crime. The film also reveals the weak police system that is supposed to ensure security to the people and is majorly involved in criminal activities.
The industry focuses on films based on police and administration, primarily because of the following reasons. First, such movies highlight the level of orderliness in society today. For instance, Triple 9 shows the lawlessness of Atlanta, where the Russian mob controls the activities in the area and even issue orders, which are adhered to by the corrupt cops. Second, such films reveal misconduct in society. In Manhattan, killings had taken root to the extent that closure of the city was needed to curb the criminals. Third, movies explain adherence to law in response to crime. Both films indicate that the convicts went unpunished as masking was done by the police officers in charge of the towns. Finally, the movie revokes corruption cases relating to the police response to criminal cases and the role of the public in ensuring justice. The issues of insatiability and bribery concerning power are well illustrated in the two films.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the movies involving crime and police officers capture much attention from the viewers and thus an effective way of communicating new policies to the public.
