The Contrast between Tourism in Costa Rica and Tanzania

Costa Rica has a wide variety of flora and fauna, making it the best in ecotourism, attracting a lot of tourists. Tourists visit Costa Rica in the summer between December and April. The summer offers lots of activities for tourists to take part in and enjoy the sandy beaches with a cool breeze from the ocean (Costa Rica Information, 2020). More so, the country has developed a means of accessing deep areas using boats and planes. Costa Rica's periphery is flanked with a long distance of Caribbean and Pacific shorelines. The outdoor activities associated with ecotourism entail a large number of exciting activities.

Outdoor activities include kayaking in Gilfo Dulce, flying through trees on a canopy Tour in Monteverde, white water rafting on the Pacuare river, and beach surfing on the great surf in Santa Teresa (Costa Rica Information, 2020). Also, there are active volcanoes such as Arenal Volcano and tropical forest in Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve and Corcovado National Park (Costa Rica Information, 2020). Costa Rica offers a large variety of activities. In addition to the already highlighted activities, the country offers day and night wildlife tours, horseback riding tours, volcano views from observation towers, visits to herbal firms, bird, dolphin, and whale watching (Whitley, 2017). There are other exhilarating activities, including scuba diving, snorkeling, sport fishing, canopy zip line tours, and bike rides (Whitley, 2017).

There are several contrasts in tourism between Costa Rica and Tanzania. Firstly, Tanzania is usually visited in the dry season between June to October when wildlife viewing is at best (Briggs, 2020). The migration of wildebeest from the Maasai Mara to Serengeti occurs during June and July hence the best moment for tourists to enjoy the view of the migration (Briggs, 2020). The spotting of animals becomes easier during the dry season as they concentrate in rivers and water holes. Tanzania offers its tourists safari hunting regulated by the Wildlife conservation act of 2009 done in a much-planned manner. Tanzania hosts Mount Kilimanjaro, the Africa leading tourist attraction, offering the tourists a view of the second tallest mountain in the world through mountain climbing (TanzaniaInvest, 2020). Tanzania offers excellent deep-sea fishing at the Pemba and Mafia Islands.

Role of International Companies to the Tourism Industry

The international press contributes to marketing Costa Rica worldwide, attracting the interest of tourists. CNN describes Costa Rica as a magnet for international tourists and is the home for over five percent of the world's biological diversity (Costa Rica Information, 2020). The country is described as an area slightly bigger than Switzerland. The travel channel portrayal of Costa Rica as a model national conservation system that protects the invaluable natural heritage of the country. The country contains 9,000 different types of flowering plants with large bird species more than Mexico, Canada, and the United States combined (Costa Rica Information, 2020).

Furthermore, Frommer describes Costa Rica as a hotpot for vacation and adventure travel in Latin America, having more than a million-tourists entering the country yearly. They insist that a large number of tourists do not affect the country in any means remaining a country full of biodiversity and natural wonder. The country offers serenity and a cool place to relax away from crowds from the various outdoor activities offered. International flights such as German Airline Condor expand their flights to Costa Rica, offering weekly flights to Munich and three weekly flights to Frankfurt (Blanco, 2019). Besides, the country seeks to advocate for tourist safety by playing 11 videos on a lop at the Juan Santamaria airport (ICT, 2016). The video demonstrates information on public transportation usage, information for lone traveling women, and adventure tourism.

Tanzania collaborates with various airlines to promote tourism in the country. Air Tanzania's creation of direct flights to Oliver Tambo airport in South Africa is to attract more South African tourists boosting the tourism industry (EABW Editor, 2019). Also, the airlines secured three landing slots at London's Gatwick Airport hence could launch flights to Britain. The airline reintroduced flights to Johannesburg, Moroni, Entebbe, Bujumbura, and Harare (Karashani, 2019). Direct air transport creates an opportunity for stronger collaboration, increasing tourism-related investment.
