Introduction

Group functioning is integral as it determines the overall outcome of the group based on its performance as well as the operations, making it necessary to enhance the group through a variety of measures. Group functioning can be improved by rolling out several changes in the culture, the employees as well as the management (Dyer et al., 2013). However, these changes must be done according to the laid down requirements as per the organization as well as considering the state laws protecting the stakeholders as well as those that guide the operations of the organization (Dyer et al., 2013). In the case of Henry Tam, several ways can be implemented to enhance the effectiveness of the group's functioning. Improving the efficiency, performance, and operation of a group needs adjustments in the structure, leadership as well as the entire stakeholders (Dyer et al., 2013).Some of the changes may include stressing on the benefits of teamwork. The group seems to have a weak application of collaboration, which may affect the overall performance of the group significantly. To improve its effectiveness, the leadership of the group must emphasize the benefits of teaming up. Teamwork in an organization brings bout cooperation, support as well as a motivation among the employees and all the stakeholders of an organization (Dyer et al., 2013). When there is adequate teamwork right from the leadership, the other stakeholders feel motivated and team up, increasing the performance. The ultimate result is to improve the effectiveness and functioning of the entire group.

The other element that is instrumental in improving the function of such a group is teaching the required skills to equip the employees and the stakeholders with the essential skills to perform the tasks that the group handles (Dyer et al., 2013). When a group such as the case of Henry Tam's group equips the workers with the skills, the disagreements that exist among the team members reduce as each of the members can discharge a responsibility comfortably. When there are no disputes in a group, the overall function of the group improves, the outcome increases, and the success story of such a team starts to build up.

Changing the entire structure of the group is also useful as it presents with its new structure, which may contain advancement and improvements as compared to the previous structure. A new arrangement brings new management that might be in a position to present better managerial abilities, which is integral in the well-being of the entire group. Several organizations have benefited significantly due to the change in the structure of the group (Dyer et al., 2013). Additionally, the new structure may incorporate benefits and other incentives that are instrumental in the motivation of the stakeholders, which is a vital determinant of how well a group functions hence, improving its performance and effectiveness (Dyer et al., 2013).

Lastly, outline clearly the roles of each group member to ensure that every team player is responsible for their actions. Taking such a move ensures that each team member is on their toes to ensure they discharge their roles effectively, which leads to an overall effect on the entire group where it becomes more active and functionally outstanding since the team players are the mirrors of their group (Dyer et al., 2013). An organized team with the players responsible for their acts always outstands and becomes more active.

Conclusion

Overall, the functioning of the group is dependent on the members, and the structure. Thus a change of the structure, the motivation of the members, and appropriate team working results to an improved group performance, which is instrumental in bettering the effectiveness and functioning and overall goal of the increased outcome, which is the baseline of all organizations and groups.
