Introduction

E-commerce is the exercise of conducting transactions over the internet. It is involved when companies and individuals buy and sell goods and services through the internet. E-commerce is a collection of activities such as online ticketing online auctions, payment gateways, and internet banking. On the other hand, E-business alias E-commerce is where the buyer and seller do not meet while they transact online. Both E-commerce and E-Business are easy to start; they have no physical boundaries, cheaper than traditional businesses, buyers and sellers don't meet, and that the integrity and security issues are few. However, the transaction risk is always higher in E-commerce and E-Business than in the traditional form of business.

Models

Consumer to business(C2B), is the vice versa of standard commerce. Instead of people paying a company for services rendered, a company would pay and individual or group to complete a task. In other words, a company outsourcing to others if they cannot complete the job themselves. C2B purchases require the goods of other companies to finish the construction of a purchaser company. C2B is the kind of commerce, coupled with e-commerce for companies like GM, who purchases parts from various sources to build vehicles.

Consumer to consumer (C2C), is the transfer of assets from one group to another electronically, quid pro quo. It can entail the exchange of funds, items, bartering, and or services. Sometimes a third party of a broker is involved who generally receives something for arranging the two parties together. eBay is the perfect example of C2C since it deals with consumer purchases and tradeoffs.

The Business-to-consumer (B2C) model involves a business selling products to a consumer via the internet. Sales of B2C directly towards individuals; this includes electronics, food, and music. When defined with e-commerce, B2C is a general primary business model, as it deals with the business supplying per consumer demand. For instance, an airline selling a ticket online to a consumer would be an example of a B2C sale.

Scenarios

Guru is a site that allows companies to post jobs to freelance workers. The site allows the hirer to display specific information about the task that needs to be completed, pays scale, and allotted time for task completion. In turn, the freelancer can search for work based on specific criteria in hopes of finding matching information. It is a form of e-commerce know as a consumer to the business, which with the help site like Guru, allows freelances the ability to sell their services to a company.

C2C or consumer to consumer is a form of e-commerce that deals with transactions between individuals through a third party or broker like Amazon. Online auction sites like eBay are also considered types of C2C, but auction sites take a commission for sales. Yardeny (2019) says that C2C sales are expected to increase even more in the future but will require higher quality control of merchandise and ways to ensure secure payments.

Purchasing a computer from an online retailer would be a relevant B2C business model. Meijer, a grocery store based in a local state of Michigan, allows the purchases of groceries online, the consumer pays, and then picks up their products at their chosen store. Meier makes the products available for purchases online, the consumer chosen their items, and the employees search out for the products and bags them for the consumer.

The opposite of consumer-to-business is business-to-consumer, whereas consumer-to-business uses a company like the Guru company. Guru allows individuals to sell to companies, whether that be jobs or items. Business to the consumer are companies like Wal-Mart selling merchandise online to individuals. C2C’s opposite is B2B, C2C ‘s business model molds to companies like Craigslist, B2B are businesses purchasing items from another business. B2B e-commerce can be wholesale companies selling to individual retailers. eBay workers with wholesalers to sell bulk quantities to an assortment of private smaller companies.

Business-to-consumer business is selling products to customers, but in the opposite direction of sale, C2B is the selling of products to companies. An example of this would be a blog or website selling off advertisement space to another company like Target or YouTube. It would be an individually operated website selling available webpage space to a larger entity.

For all three businesses, C2B, C2C, and B2C, a computer or cell phone would be all that's required as far as hardware. When considering the variety of work involved in the three business models and the three company examples, people would be another necessary component. People are the users of the technology and the deciders that are going to be traded, sold, and purchased. I am sure printers, Bluetooth, and other software would be used, but without specific knowledge, I would stick with the most necessary things.

All the business models mentioned above require IT to function efficiently, such as a desktop or laptop computer and phone with internet access. Network servers could also be utilized to save data on a larger scale if there too much data to be saved on a computer hard drive. It all depends on the size of the company and the product. Portable hard drives or flash drives could be used to save information as well, but preferable hardware would be personal computers for a small to medium-sized company. Computers would be necessary tools to more so than cell phones because when searching or viewing information over phones is far more complicated than using a computer. Also, more data can save on a computer than a cell phone.

A cell phone allows for more direct contact than email or instant messaging with computers. There is also the mobility of not being tied down to the desk, giving the user the ability to check on other things. Cell phones are great for emergency contact situations and allow for internet access almost everywhere there are cell phone towers. If used correctly, cell phones could be an excellent device for business purposes.
