Dave, on his lecture "design your Life" talks about several factors that hinder someone from achieving their success. One of these factors includes dysfunctional beliefs. According to Dave dysfunctional, beliefs is famous in college. The student thinks that what they major within college affect their future; they believe also works in one's healthy life. However, this is not true since most of the people do not work as par what they majored in college. This also happens in real-life experience, and For example, one could think they have to be employed to be productive. Therefore, they waste there experience working for jobs that they may not be happy doing. Such people could follow their dreams and be successful. Dysfunctional believes may not come from one but the community or people around a person. Hence, getting out of the dysfunctional believe require one being zealous, aggressive and not to care what other people say.
An additional factor that Dave argues about in life includes a passion for what one does. Dave makes it clear that not having a defined passion does not necessarily mean one is lost in life. Getting to work on one's love makes a person become more focused dream higher among others. One can create their passion toward a thing. Dave explains that one of ten people know what is their love while others have many and cannot decide which one to follow. Hence, people should not be depressed in life when they have not figured out there passion at the twenties. While love is suitable for one people should not think about it much if they cannot work toward its direction.
Dave further argues that life is not an equation or a problem to be solved, but instead, it is a process of living. Therefore, one should not work on pointing out on blocks in life. For example, one should not have an age limit when they should have achieved something. Such a notion is helpful for people who are always anxious not to be left behind and or the one thinking that they might be too late in life. Dave explains the need people to go at their phase and be happy doing so. Comparison with others also results in depression among the people and could influence a person morale toward following their dreams.
Finally, life is not a problem; there is no single approach toward figuring the right answer. Those who do figure out a solution cannot use the same algorithm to resolve the issue again. This is helpful, especially to the people who use other people approach to determine their way toward succeeding. Such people could be stressed as they do not necessarily achieve their dreams. Generally, one should figure out life in their ways and don't copy other people ways of living expecting to be successful in life. It is also essential to embrace acceptance to make it in life. This way, in case something does not go as expected, people will be comfortable with it.
In conclusion, Dave helps one think of life as a new approach. Some factors he uses in his speech help in rediscovering the Mistry of life. Hence, people should always focus on dealing with life, knowing that theirs is Unique from others.
