Organization and System Role in Nursing
For efficiency, access and enrichment in the level of services within a nursing institution, nursing philosophy and goals governing the success and culture as identified by the managerial staff and the key managers of the system must be adhered to. The organizational system involves a series of linked functionalities within an institution aimed at achieving a single ultimate objective (Sullivan, & Garland, 2010). Regarding our case, which is an outstanding issue related to the time taken by the patients in the emergency wait room. About this aspect and in achieving the ultimate goal and expectation of the society, establishment of the fundamental philosophy and goal is imperative.
Institution’s Philosophy of Nursing
The philosophy of nursing service administration is linked to its operations and objectives that it has to the society. Its philosophy is primarily goal-oriented and focused on meeting the limits of services at the level expected by the society. Furthermore, as a culture in its operation it carries out activities under a limitless boundary giving room for sudden unique operations giving it a competitive advantage over the other existing institutions in the area offering a nursing service (Yanhua, & Watson, 2011).
The goal of the company is to provide quality services with a lot of integrity, competence and advanced skills to meet the needs of the clients and satisfy the demands of the community. While its mission entails the provision of and maintenance of societal health, the institution has a philosophy of offering free checkups to the inhabitants of the area at a regular interval. It is aimed at meeting the long-term objective of the establishment.
Nursing Care Delivery Models
The services related to the care of the patients are primarily procedural, having particular specialists in control of every stage. Notably, all the sections of the institution, right from the emergency sector to other parts related, have a specific road map that controls the operations to ensure order and specialization about areas of experience and efficiency in nursing care delivery model. The model of the patient system in this institution involves different categories of nurse practitioners participating in the activities such as care for the medical home staff, those in charge of the pharmacy services, social work activities, and ambulatory care. Furthermore, there is a select group of nurses dealing with individual people in the society, especially the elderly and those who are having certain health complications or chronic diseases. These includes the elderly patients, mental health needs, and chronic patients
Based on our case study, the company of concern focuses on the ambulatory, emergency, and attention for the elderly. These are some of the areas that primarily concern the company about its objectives and philosophy towards the attainment of the goals, missions, and visions of the enterprise. The primary reasons that govern the undertaking of the institution are the availability of the resources, facilities, and size of the center. Medical services ar5e quite expensive as they need resources which can only be effective if the facilities are capable of meeting the demands of the society by meeting the quality of services.
Nursing Administration Philosophy and Goals as a Cause of the Problem
The nature and culture of the organization are rooted towards attaining the objectives and the entire demands of the society. The primary challenge influencing the institution is the insufficiency of resources to support the whole community and meeting the requirements that can help it move miles to reach its objectives. There is a greater linkage between the philosophies of the institution and the issue of concern of the company.
In my opinion, the company gives room for limitless notion forgetting that the resources are inadequate to meet the extra unbudgeted demands of the people. The long wait time duration is because the institution fails to cater for home visit nurses, social work and some of the elderly. When all these people happen to come to the hospital to be attended to, they end up causing congestion which results in the issue of concern (Castner et al., 2012). Out of this, it is clear that the principles and the culture of the community to intervene into greater needs of their company which it cannot meet since they are all dependent on the resources available.
Organizations Health Care Delivery Issues
Based on the nature of the institution, it has a very wide design that can make it efficient in achieving the goals and objectives of the society under which it operates. It is also imperative to understand the fact that the greater the model, the more expensive it becomes hence the difficulty regarding access by the have-nots. For this reason, therefore, the model that the company applies does not work by its demands hence the emergence of the problems. The fact that it only supports the ambulatory patients, some the elderly and those in the emergency sector leaves a large number lagging hence the cause of the congestion. On the outside, the company is focused on establishing a stronger sense of public image which from inside remains to be a mere hypothesis. It is, therefore, clear that the incompatibility regarding the large care model which should be applicable in an ideal situation and what the company provides are acting as the principal cause of the problem.
Organizational Goal Issues
The objective of the organization is to offer quality services, supplemented by a high level of integrity and expertise involved. This goal is a hindrance and a causative agent to the principal issue of concern in the following way. Consider this example, in an emergency room, there may be cases which are being handled currently, but because of the size of the area, any additional cases may not be dealt with due to the insufficient workforce and also space. At that level, the expectation of the society has been breached hence the likelihood of longer waiting hours.
Patient Care Model and Nursing Organization Systems Issues
Care model is another aspect fueling the issue and organizational system failure in nursing (Levett-Jones, et al., 2010). Regardless of the size of the hospital, the society expects any health institution available to handle all the cases within their reach. It is important to understand that in most cases, the aspect of specialization also applies to the hospital hence the need of knowing what a given health facility is known to perform best in. Consider a situation where the society is not aware of the cases that the company is specialized in; there is a likelihood of wasting a lot of time. Concerning the organization's model, if it were offering all the available options, then the situation would not have been as it is. It is, therefore, another contributor to the situation that the institution is in.
