The discovery of coconut wood by modern science has opened up new ways of utilizing natural resources with less negative impact on the environment and at the same time reducing the cost of purchasing wood.
The Benefits of Coconut Wood
As compared to other trees, coconut palm takes a short period to mature and be ready for use since its growth and maturity is rapid. Within a period of 5 to 6 years, a coconut palm tree is ready for heavy applications and use such as in flooring and building. On another positive note, coconut tree harvesting and usage of the trees occur only after attaining an old age period. In many instances, between the period of 60 to 80 years, palm trees weather off and die, a fact that helps in the sustainability feature for application in the domestic construction of houses such as in flooring. The use and application of coconut wood in homes offer perfect finishing and beautification of the home by use of a unique wood product.
In comparison with common woods such as teak, coconut palm is significantly cheaper. In the United Kingdom, teak remains the most expensive construction wood. As compared to mahogany, the two provides the necessary strength needed for wood in residential construction. On the other hand, the coconut palm is significantly sustainable and remains perfect for home application and use. It's low cost, and hard material makes it ideal for home use as well as continuing as the cheapest amongst all cheap woods in the market. Additionally, using it for domestic and construction purposes makes it the most economical and environmentally friendly actions of preserving and conserving the environment since it is considered dead wood and can no longer bear fruit.

In comparison to many other types of materials, palm wood remains the perfect material for consumption. It is economical, durable, and its disposal mechanism even after attaining the maximum number of years remains environmentally friendly. Mahogany is not only expensive, but also needs unsustainable methods with no thoughts of regeneration. The use of coconut wood offers a sustainable way of using coconut products in addition to preserving the environment. Buying and using coconut wood helps prevent the destruction of the earth and natural resources, a way in which manufacturers using other types of wood get the message of alternative, better, and high-quality natural products that are environmentally friendly. The current capitalist world as it is remains the greatest threat to the natural ecosystem and destruction of trees such as mahogany. Consumers should, therefore, change tact and preserve the rapid destruction of the natural environment by opting and using products such as coconut wood that comes with many benefits such as low cost, easy sustainability measures, and hard material for use in the construction industry.
