Coaching style
Coach Summit is a cooperative coach since she involves her team in decision-making. When her team loses a match, she collaborates with them to find the cause of the problem and solutions to enable them to excel in the future (usnewsandworldreport, 2008). She encourages each team member to suggest what he or she think is necessary to increase his or her performance. Secondly, she directs athletes to work hard instead of complaining when they fail (usnewsandworldreport, 2008). Thirdly, during a match, she remains calm as she watches her team play. She only addresses them when necessary calmly and peacefully, which the players seem to enjoy.
Positive traits
The coach is creative since she uses failure a blueprint for future improvements. The approach is valid since it allows athletes to discover their mistakes and improve on their weak areas.

- Compassionate-she is sympathetic to young people when they fail to achieve their targets; therefore, guides them through their training to attain their set goals. For example, she helps her son make it to a basketball team.
- Family-oriented- the coach has a strong relationship with her son that is evident throughout the video. For instance, her son accompanies her in most matches. Additionally, she helps him overcome his fears and join the school basketball team.
- Responsibility- the coach is responsible since she acknowledges failure as a collective problem. She does not blame players when they lose a match; instead, she tries to improve her coaching practice to develop her players' skills.
Flaws
Irascibility-The coach is easily angered when her team loses a match. She claims that she has a low tolerance for failure. However, she uses the opportunity to teach her team players.
Personal Reflection
Coach Summit one example of a coach that I can emulate in the future. Her style of leadership and training is perfect since it allows athletes to contribute to performance improvement decisions and fosters motivation in the team. I also admire her training approach that is athlete-centered. She provides players with rules and guidelines to allow them to set their targets. Later she helps train to achieve the goals.
Tony Dungy
Coaching Style
Coach Dungy is an example of a cooperative coach. She has won many national football leagues in the country including the Super Bowl (reminisce32, 2007). Notably, for a coach to win trophies multiple times, he or she must have exemplary leadership and coaching skills. Additionally, he fosters healthy relationships within his club. For example, he encourages athletes to believe in their inner strength, spirituality, and capabilities to attain their anticipated goals (reminisce32, 2007). Secondly, as a cooperative coach, he has learned a lot from football and life from his teams, which allows him to improve his career.

- Perseverance- he acknowledges that people face challenges and tough times in their life and career. However, he claims that his faith in Christ enables him to maneuver the obstacles and make a difference in his community.
Flaws
Shy- the coach is shy to show off his success to the world, which made him not publish motivational books initially despite being encouraged to do so by his former trainees.
Personal Reflection
Despite Coach Dungy being an exemplary coach, I would not like to model myself into his image. His calm nature and overindulgence in internal strength and spirituality may hinder me from identifying lazy athletes in a team.
Bear Bryant
Coaching Style
Coach Bryant utilizes the commanding coaching style. His team athletes listen, absorb, and comply with his directions. For instance, the video reveals him outlining a scoring strategy while the players keep quiet and listen (Runyan, 2007). He neither allows them to contribute nor ask questions to identify whether they have comprehended the plan. Additionally, he does not involve other coaching officials in his strategy formulation.
Positive traits
- Creative- the coach is creative since he recognizes the best time to score against their opponents in the field (Runyan, 2007). He directs athletes to seize specific chances and capitalize on their opponent's incompetence and mistakes.
- Motivational- During the break when his team has conceded more goals, he encourages them by telling them they will win since they have a good plan and strategy. The trait is necessary to motivate players.
Flaws
Dictator- he outlines instructions and makes all decisions concerning how his team will play without entertaining any opinions. The trait may be a source of demotivation in a team.
Personal Reflection
Bryant is an autocrat, whom I do not desire to imitate. His coaching style may be effective, but has a high risk of team failure. The approach would deny me the opportunity to address diverse capabilities of the athletes. It would also promote a poor working relationship. Dictatorship alienates and demotivates athletes; thus making them unable to achieve their full potential.
Coach K
Coaching Style
Coach K is a cooperative coach. His leadership skills have allowed him to win four national titles in basketball. Notably, he is the best high school basketball coach in Carolina. According to his wife, the coach is capable of listening to his players, staff members, and recruits because he appreciates cooperation (ABC News, 2010). - He is a team player- in the interview, coach K notes that he cannot achieve anything by himself; instead, he depends on the involvement of all stakeholders.
- Humble- he does not always desire to win matches. He states that being over ambitious is a trait of weak leadership.
- Determined- he is determined to create a difference among his players. Therefore, he listens and engages his players in discussions to instill them with confidence and foster good character necessary for sports excellence.
- Exemplary leader-coach K attended a military school where he learned to be an exceptional leader. In his interview, he acknowledges that he will not join NBA leagues despite his success in college basketball (ABC News, 2010). He admits that his passion is in developing new talents in college basketball. He is also determined to be a coach in the Duke University Basketball program forever.

- Hot tempered- the coach is quick-tempered during a match when his players perform below his expectations. He curses failure and does not hesitate to direct players on the pitch.
Personal Reflection
Coach K is an example of a coach that I would emulate in my future endeavors. I admire his leadership style and own beliefs. I believe they are essential for a team's motivation and success. For example, engaging an athlete's family in training decisions fosters confidence in a player and enables them to unlock their potential. Additionally, personal discipline is essential in any profession. The coach outlines that winning is not his primary motivation, which allows him not to overwork or stress his players. I think if I incorporate his coaching style and persona in my future profession, I will achieve most of my goals.

Dictatorship- his leadership style is autocratic since he directs his players on what to do without attracting any feedback. Throughout, the practice, he outlines his plan without any interjection from the players who are busy implementing his commands.
Personal Reflection
Despite coach Auriemma being intelligent, I do not desire to imitate his coaching style. His dictatorship approach of imposing tactics on players inhibits their imagination and creativity. I believe players should be allowed to play and demonstrate their unique tricks.
Nick Saban
Coaching style
Coach Saban is a dictator in the field. In the video, he revealed commanding his players with a lot of anger because they did follow his instructions (RRocket25, 2010).
